Chapter 17

Avalanna's P.O.V

"Moooom.." the kids sing song as they rush into the kitchen where I was baking cookies for Jay Jay.

He seemed to be on edge lately and I didn't know why.

Hopefully this will make him feel better.

"W-what is it?" I ask as I roll the cookie dough in my hands.

"Mommy..... the best mother in the whole wide world, our number one, our right hand, our go-to, our ride or die, our wind beneath our wings! Our-" I cut Jazzy off.

"What want?" I huff out as I place the cookie dough on a pan.

"Can we go to the movies? And then probably just grab dinner afterwards." Camilla asks.

"Ummm.." I trail off.

"Please mom?" Jr asks as he picks Melissa up into his arm and watch as she gives me the puppy dog eyes.

"Ask Jay Jay." I say.

"We did. He said to ask you." Jazzy replies.

"O-okay." I sigh after a while it thinking. They all cheer.

"B-be safe though, remember! Remember to be safe please. Takes some money from my wallet a-and no strangers remember. And no taking candy like Jay Jay says!" I call as they immediately agree and kiss my cheek before rushing out of the house and leaving me alone to finish Jay Jay's cookies.

"Hey sweetheart." Jason mumbles when he comes home later that night behind me and places a kiss to my cheek.

"Hi Jay Jay." I smile lightly as I frost the cookies.

"Where are the kids?" He asks as he jumped up and sat down on the counter and watched me.

"T-they went to movies and dinner. Don't worry though Jay Jay- I'd told them to be careful and no take candy likes you always say." I nod.

"What?" He squints his eyes at me.

"They went to-"

"No. I heard you the first time. Why though? I told them they couldn't go." He asks me as he stands back up to his feet.

I give him a confused look.

"B-but they said you says y-yes when I say to ask Jay Jay if they can go. I remember they says you said yes." I go to defend myself.

"Yeah, well I didn't. They lied to you because I very clearly told them no. Camilla and Jazzy have been out of hand lately, Jr's been getting into more fights, Xander's grades are slipping, and Melissa told me to leave her alone last night when I told her she couldn't have any more juice. Why in the hell would I let them go to a movie?!" He asks me as he begins walking.

"I-I sorry Jay Jay. I-I didn't- I didn't know." My chin wobbles at the idea of me going behind Jason's back.

"I's made you cookies." I push the plate of cookies I've spent all day working on towards him.

"I'm not hungry." He mutters before leaving me alone in the kitchen all by myself.

"Y-you's all lie to me." I whisper to all the kids later that night after everyone has showered and Jay Jay already lectured all of them before angrily storming up to our room.

"Mom I-" I cut Jr off.

"Y-you's my first baby boy and you's says that Jay Jay say yes to movies and d-dinner but Jay Jay got mad when Ava says yes b-because Jay Jay had s-said no." I whimper as I cuddle the throw pillow in my lap.
