Jason's P.O.V
A smile can't help but take over my face when I unintentionally walk in on the sight of Jr with a girl on the floor in our living room.
Not just any girl, oh no.
This girls' name was Raquel.
And she was undoubtedly one of, if not the main, reason for Jr's sudden change in behavior- a good change of course.
We all noticed it not too long ago, Jr was more patient with his little siblings, he was sharing more with them and being more understanding with the twins and not annoying them as much, he talked just a little less and listened and observed a lot more. He was also turning in all his school work either on time or ahead of time and his teachers had called us to tell us what a drastic change they've seen in him and how proud and happy they were to see how far he's come in such a short amount of time.
I wished we could take credit for that change.
But we couldn't.
That was all Raquel.
Raquel changed him all by herself without even realizing she was doing it.
She was just herself.
Quietly walking past them without them seeing me, I make my way into the kitchen where my wife was.
The wife I still hadn't told about my memories coming back and me being able to remember what a humongous dick I was to her and my kids.
We were just so.. happy.
And I didn't want to ruin that. Not again.
Maybe this was God's way of giving me a second change and telling me not to screw up again... right?
I'm shaken out of my thoughts when I see my wife reaching for a bag of chips she couldn't quite reach because they were on the highest shelf in our pantry.
I chuckle as I walk up behind her and reach up to grab them before handing them over to her.
"Thank you Jay Jay! Thank you sooo much!" She smiles and walks back over to the counter she was previously at before opening the bag of chips to pour them into little baggies for the family for lunch later.
"You need any help sweetheart?" I ask her as I steal a chip from the bag and place it in my mouth when I walk over to stand beside her.
"Y-you cut the apples? Please and thank you." She nods to herself before handing me the apple cutter and pointing to the apples.
"Sure baby," I kiss her head before getting to my designated task assigned by none other than my wife.
We were planning on going to the beach today for a little bit of family time and Ava thought it would be a good idea to have a picnic there as well.
Looking up through the opening of the little window/doors that separated the kitchen from the living room, I was able to have the perfect view of Jr and Raquel.
Jr, my badass son who would have refused and wouldn't be caught dead even holding a stuffed animal or flowers or anything along those lines before, was now playing with a whole bunch of different stuffed animals surrounded by him and his.... friend with the biggest smile on his face and even went the extra mile and allowed his voice to go up a whole octave just to keep the game of 'stuffies' going.
Raquel had squealed and giggled when Jr brought one of the stuffed animals up to her face and made it pretend to be giving her kisses all over her.
