"abby we shouldn't have took the book! the library will be mad!" drew whispers as he crouches down next to abby. abby smiles and throws the book under a bush between the classrooms, "they're there to be read! it'll be fine!"abby crawls into the small gaping hole in the bush and pulls drew in with her. they sit criss-cross-applesauce in the loose dirt and open the thickest book about space the school has. they sit in silence as they explore the fascinating pages with their eyes.
one picture shows a cosmic galaxy; purples, pinks, magentas, blues, black and white. they could almost feel the swarm of color fluttering in front of them.
the next page maps the constellations in their sky. the white burning stars popping against the pitch black sky. drew stares at these constellations and then the freckles on abby's hand.
