POV: ABBY
"you look awesome sweetie - first non space themed costume you've worn in a long time," abby's dad smiles as he turns down the school road. abby forces a smile and looks out the window to watch each dressed up student walking to school. "quick question - do you still hang out with that drew kid?" abby stares at her hands, "not much anymore. why?" her dad shrugs, "just wondering."
you only care if your precious daughter hangs out with the black kid. "okay."
abby slides out of the front seat to stand still in the front of her big, intimidating school for what seems like the one millionth time. she walks through the gates tugging her tight green shirt down and her green leggings up. i should've never agreed to this.
"sam!" she hears behind her several times until her friend jenny runs in front of her. "uhh sam! why are you ignoring us?" jenny laughs at her joke and pulls abby to the planter the popular sixth graders hang around. abby fake laughs and smiles her way around the group as jenny and brianna explain the three of their's costumes.
"we're the girls from totally spies!" jenny jumps up and down holding onto abby and brianna's shoulders. "wait but isn't the yellow suit one black?" a boy derek asks, staring at brianna - a short blonde girl. "well yeah but none of us are black, but brianna's sassy enough!"
wow. nice one jenny...
abby spaces out staring at the students walking into school while the rest of the kids critique others costumes. "jeez who's the nerd that came as space garbage? huh?" owen nudges abby as he points to a kid dressed as boba fett. abby feels her stomach knot i know who it is. drew has an awesome costume this year... i wish i
"hey abby walk me to class please," brianna holds her arm out and her other linked with jenny. abby nods and joins the line towards class. "so n-sync's new song..."
god i wish i was dressed as padme.
