drew pushes a brussel sprout across his plate then cuts it in half, trying to make it look smaller and eaten. i'm bringin sexy back. he nods his head then flicks his fork up at the YEAH!
he smiles at himself and takes a bite of the mashed potatoes and looks at momma who's staring at him. "heh, hi," he says, mouth full of potato.
she forces a smile, "hi baby. um, i have something i need to tell you... and i need you to be um... serious."
drew frowns and sits up and swallows, "uh yeah okay. what is it?"
momma looks down at her hands clutching her napkin, "well, baby, you remember the conversation we had in the car a few months ago?"
"uh heh, you're gonna have to be a bit more specific," he chuckles but stops when he sees mommas not smiling.
"the one about the possibility of me... dating..." she lifts her eyebrow ever so slightly.
drews throat tightens, "oh yeah."
momma clears her throat, "well, i have been - dating that is - since we spoke. and um, i met someone." drews eyes retreat to his glass of water and they stay there, "oh."
"mhmm. his name is joshua. he's a veterinarian like me and he has a five year old daughter. she's so cute. her name is isabella. they live in..."
momma continues to talk.
drew stops listening.
