{one year later}
The air outside was a little windy but that didn't stop Robbie and the other kids from playing and running around on there sugar high, it was a birthday party after all there were no such thing as calming down. I fall back into a chair sighing loudly as I finally get a chance to relax, I never shut my eyes for a second though, I had to make sure Liam and the other kids were having fun.
"Tough isn't it?" I look up and see the mother of Liam's friend who lived just a block down, she was short with brown hair and a cute button nose.

"Yea, but it's my first party I'm doing for him, kinda want to make it special."
I motion to the glitter in my hair and she laughs.
"Haha, I know how you feel I had paint in my hair my sons 4 birthday. Had to do more than one wash to get that out, but I have to say you did a good job for your first children's party."
"Thanks I just took a whole lot of things I liked in my childhood."

"Your wife must be proud."
"He would be very proud,"
I extend my hand and show her my wedding ring.
"He passed, but I'm sure he's looking down at me probably judging my parenting methods."
"I'm very sorry for your lost, what was his name?"
"Sean."
She smiles grabbing her pug from under her chair, it was a cute small tan pug with a missing eye.
"I thought I would be stuck with her all my life, but then I met Felix."
"Where is he?"
I look into the crowd of wild children and small group of children.
"Right here."
I turn to see a man with silver hair and beard dressed nice, but not too nice.
"You must be, Mark."
"And you Felix."
"Yup, Marzia's husband."

The birthday party was now over and Melanie like an angel stayed to help pick up the place.
"Thank you, Mel means a lot."
"Don't worry Mark. I have time to kill and I miss seeing Liam, how is he doing by the way?"
"He's doing alright, made a lot of friends, learns a lot in school, he likes showing off when I come pick him up in my Bentley from school."
"That thing isn't childproof! You need to get a minivan."
"A minivan for one kid really, Melanie?"

It was nice to have a conversation with someone that is my age range(I shouldn't really say that given me being 200 years old), not that I'm compiling I love spending all my time with Liam, but I'd like to talk about life and other things than "why can't SpongeBob get his drivers license".

"Are you still coming with us to the cemetery?"
"No I tagged along to many times. I think you two boys should just go."
"Hey, Mark what should I do with the bouncy house?"
Asked Bob, a dad I met at Liam's school PTA meeting.
"Just leave it up because I have it for another hour."
"Okay, I hope Liam likes his gift."
"He does, thanks for coming."
He leaves and a grumpy clown walks to me in squeaking shoes, it was Bob a friend I met online while playing GMod.
"I've been your friend long enough, Mark, but not enough to be the clown at your sons birthday party."
"You did great, Bob. A natural clown."
"Your lucky you're my best bud."
Chica, our dog, runs around the house and outside backyard eating leftover food and cake helping Melanie.
"Thanks, Chica."
She empty a plate of cake into her bowl and she devours it along with the mixture of Bar-B-Q foods I made for the party guest.
"If she throws up, Melanie, you're cleaning it up."
"Don't worry, Mark."

I rush up stairs to find Liam laying on his bed curled up with his new toys crying.
"What's wrong buddy?"
"I want daddy here. So I can show him all my new toys."
"Hey, Liam, remember what I told you about daddy? He is with you, he might not be right next to you, but he is with you in your heart he'll always see the new toys and other stuff you get, okay buddy?"
I wipe tears and a little bit of cake frosting from the corner of his mouth and tell him to change his shirt.

"Are you going to talk to him or am I doing it again?"
"I can talk to him now."
Liam sits in the grass placing the flowers on the grave and I knell down placing the ones I had in hand as well.
"Hey, daddy. We miss you a lot and Mr. Mark misses you too, I just turned 6 today and I know you didn't forget because you never did before. I got all kinds of new toys and had a huge party with with a bouncy castle and cake and everyone was there and it was so much fun! I just wish you were there too, but Mark said you are here with me and I believe him. I love you."
Liam stands and dust off his pants while I lean in placing a kiss on the cold tombstone.
"We miss you Jacky."
I stand and we together look at the engraving on its cold surface while Robbie hugs my leg.
"I love you, daddy."
"I love you too, Liam."
