"Derek, this is Lily."
The 12 year old boy looked down at the eight year old brunette. She wore a wide smile as she stood beside her mother. Derek stayed where he was staring at the happy little girl. She was the same age as his youngest sister, Cora. "
"Lily this is Derek."
Lily was overjoyed at the sight of someone who could be like another big brother. Expect he wouldn't be blood and they would fight over family things. She jumped away from her mother, moving in front of Derek.
"Hi!" Lily greeted, waving towards the older boy. Derek chuckled, waving at the younger girl. Derek glanced behind the girl, where a boy was lingering behind his family. He looked to be a couple years older than Lily, but younger than Derek. The two kids smiled at each other and plopped down in the living room. "My mom said you're a wolf. I'm also something supernatural, but my mom says that I can't tell anyone."
Derek was stunned at first, not expecting for her to know about their family secret. Then he heard about her being something also and he brightened up. A smile appeared on the boy's face. "Yeah, I am. It's super cool." He replied. "What are you? I promise I won't tell anyone."
Lily studied the older boy. Her face contorted in curiosity causing her nose to wrinkle."Pinky promise?" She questioned.
Her head was held high as she stared at the wolf. She held out her pinky, waiting for the boys reply. He smiled, nodding. He reached forward, connecting the two's pinkies.
"Pinky promise."
***************
There was nothing that could prepare a person for the day that they loose someone they loved. You feel empty inside for the most part because while the person dies so does a part of yourself. The emptiness reminds you that there is nothing that can bring them back. They're gone and you can't do anything about it.
Lily felt absolutely empty inside.
The emptiness was trying to be filled by the emotions that returned to her from the lost memories that had somehow been revealed. She was getting back more and more memories by the second. Expect they were only of him. Of Derek.
She was remembering how they met. They times he was there for her when things got rough. Anyone that was rude her, her would beat them up or so he said. She was the same person she was now expect a little more innocent when she knew him.
