"Why aren't you having fun?" Kat questioned, twirling around in her red dress. The man sighed, looking up at her. She smiled at her friend, pulling him up from his spot. "I brought you here to forget about her. So drink, have fun." She giggled.
"Fine," Derek agreed.
Kat bounced up and down with excitement. She pulled the man along to the crowd. They danced almost all night. Every now and then they got a drink. Kat had promised him a night to remember and she succeeded. But, not in the way they wanted. The two were close to leaving when shots rang through the speakeasy. Derek pulled his cousin down to the ground as the men stormed into the place.
Kat gasped as she recognized the men. "They found me." She whispered.
Derek followed her gaze, seeing exactly what she had. He bit his lip, moving her through the scared crowd, trying to get to the door. They were stopped when one of men shot his gun into the air, making the crowd go quiet. Derek pulled the girl close as the leader looked around.
"You see, we don't want to hurt any of you. But, my sister happened to run away from our....group and we need her. So, Katarina, come out!" Jakes voice boomed and echoed in the speakeasy.
Kat moved closer to Derek, who was looking for a way out. Jake grabbed a drink, taking a sip. He held the glass in the air with his gun. "Come on, sis! It's your big brother!" Jake exclaimed. He looked around before setting the glass down hard enough for it to break. "I guess we have to do this the hard way." Jake fixed his shirt and held his gun to one of the dancers. Kat gulped, sharing a look with Derek.
"Come out or people die." He promised.
Kat dreaded what would happen if her brother got her, but she couldn't let an innocent die. She looked at Derek with a pleading look. He shook his head in response. She give him a look before darting away. Derek tried to grab her, but it was too late as Jake saw her.
"There's my little sister." He greeted. He smiled before a shot rang and the dancer was killed. "Opps." Kat gasped, stumbling back. "Oh, come on! You didn't think I would let her survive. I'm a monster remember." He chuckled, stepping forward and grapping Kat roughly.
"Oh, Katarina. How we've missed you." Jake sighed, running his finger through a strand of her blonde hair. "Elizabeth will be so thrilled to see you again." Jake smiled at his sister, stepping back and throwing his arms in the air. He chuckled and then shot another innocent. Kat sobbed at the sight, Jake laughing at how scarred he was. "Kat, you soon will be like this."
