"Liz, take a look at this," A young voice called out to the young girl.
It was different. Elizabeth was younger, 9 at the oldest. Her hair was shorter, only up to her shoulders, rather than at her waist.
She wasn't with W.I.C.K.E.D either. She was somewhere else. It was before the sunflares hit everything.
Elizabeth was standing on the beach. The soft sand in between her toes and the smell of the fresh ocean filling her nostrils. A cool wind blew across her, making her dress flow in the breeze.
The young girl rushed over to her best friend and stood beside her, looking out over the sea.
The young girl waited before speaking up. "I don't see anything."
"Just wait."
Suddenly a pod of dolphins broke through the surface, jumping through the air.
Elizabeth stood there in awe, looking at the creatures. "Teresa?"
"Yeah?" Her friend turned to face her.
"What do you think it would be like to be a dolphin?" She asked.
Teresa thought about it. "I always imagined it to be like freedom."
"Me too," Elizabeth smiled back.
Elizabeth loved her family and her life, but she always felt like she was trapped and wanted something more.
Teresa was her best friend though and Elizabeth knew she could never leave her. They were too close.
The scene then started to change, started to become black. The ocean smell started to leave her and was replaced by a more indoors-like smell.
Elizabeth was now a little older, maybe 12 or 13. Her hair was longer and she looked more like a teenager now rather than a child.
Newt to her was a boy around the same age as her.
He sat next to Elizabeth with a guitar in his hands. He smiled at her before starting to play.
Hey, I was doing just fine before I met you
I drink too much and that's an issue but I'm okay
Hey, you tell your friends it was nice to meet them
But I hope I never see them again
I know it breaks your heart
Moved to the city in a broke down car
And four years, no calls
Now you're looking pretty in a hotel bar
And I can't stop
No, I can't stop
So baby pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of the mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
You look as good as the day I met you
I forget just why I left you, I was insane
Stay and play that Blink-182 song
That we beat to death in Tuscon, okay
I know it breaks your heart
Moved to the city in a broke down car
And four years, no call
Now I'm looking pretty in a hotel bar
And I can't stop
No, I can't stop
So baby pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of the mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
So baby pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder
Pull the sheets right off the corner
Of the mattress that you stole
From your roommate back in Boulder
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
(we ain't ever getting older)
We ain't ever getting older
(we ain't ever getting older)
We ain't ever getting older
(we ain't ever getting older)
We ain't ever getting older
We ain't ever getting older
No we ain't ever getting older
The two finished and the boy leaned over and kissed Elizabeth on the cheek.
"Do you remember the day we first heard that song?" The boy asked his girlfriend.
"Of course I do Jayden. It was the first song that you learned to play and forced me to sing it with you," Elizabeth smirked.
"Because you're one of the best singers I know," He told her.
Life was so perfect back then. It's still hard to believe everything is so broken now.
