The train has stopped meaning everyone should be unboarding. The first years were all excited and filled with adrenaline by the fact that they're going to the best wizarding school in the world: Hogwarts.
Draco picked up his luggage and started to look for the bushy brown haired Hermione Granger in a sea full of first years. Everyone had gathered up at a big, bearded man named Hagrid. "First years, follow me" and then Draco saw Hermione who was talking to Neville about his lost toad. Draco tried to squeeze him in so he could be able to get close to Hermione.
"I can't believe Draco believed us" Pansy laughed whilst she exits the train along with her friends.
"I can't believe he's actually going for it, look! He's tagging along that girl" Blaise chuckled, pulling his luggage with him. "So gullible" Pansy muttered as she shook her head as they followed along the crowd full of first years.
They reached upon the docks where the first years had seen about twenty boats and the big man Hagrid had filed everyone into a single line, Young Draco wanted to sit in the same boat as Hermione's.
Unfortunately one boat should only consist of five people. The clumsy boy Neville, almost fell into the waters when Hagrid insisted to carry him to the boat instead. Knowing that something would go wrong, Hermione cuts in line and told Hagrid that she wants to sit with Neville. It was then, that the boat Hermione was in consisted of Neville Longbottom, Dean Thomas, Susan Bones, and Seamus Finnigan.
When Hagrid wasn't looking, and it was Seamus' turn to get in their boat, Draco abruptly pushes him aside to get in.
"Hey! Don't you have a good excuse to cut in line?" Seamus asked, frowning at Draco.
"Of course I do, I'm a Malfoy" he smirked.
"All righ' of you go then!" Hagrid turns around to see the first boat filled, giving it a push to the waters.
Hermione turned around to see none other than Draco Malfoy, the blond-haired boy whom she saw earlier at the train ride. But she wasn't expecting he'd be with them in the boats; after all, it should've been Seamus. When Draco and Hermione shared glances, his lips formed into a smirk, winking at her; Hermione furrowed her eyebrows at him.
Why is that boy winking at me? she thought to herself.
The boat ride was immersive, everyone was amused by the gigantic castle they were about to go in. Susan and Hermione were talking about the history of hogwarts, and Draco thought that he would look cool if he showed off.
"Did you know that the headmaster of hogwarts is now a hundred and ten? That's amazing!" said Hermione.
"You know my father knows a lot about the headmaster.. his name is--"
"Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, yes I know. I've read about him in the hogwarts: a history" Hermione cut Draco off.
"Hey, where's Seamus?" Neville turned around.
"Uh.. he says he's too scared to go so I had to go in" Draco replies.
"Really? but I thought--"
"Oh look! we're nearly there!" Draco pointed at the end of the dock which was a few feet away from them.
The lamps were glistening, welcoming the first-years. As they reached the dock, Hermione assisted Neville once he stood up, so he wouldn't fall down. Draco looked at them as he rolled his eyes.
Draco gets off the boat and Neville greets him with a friendly gesture, "Hi, my name's Neville Longbottom" as he reached his hand out for a handshake. Draco only looked at him and sighed, "I'm Draco Malfoy"
