The next day, Draco had found out that the Gryffindors will be joining the slytherins in potions class, which was a great opportunity for Draco to show off not just in front of Hermione, but to Professor Snape as well.
He has always had a good feeling about Potions class. He'd always think he'd be great at it. Something he'd excell at quickly. So, when it was time for Potions, Draco hurridly went inside and looked for a good spot to sit. He was the first one inside, and waiting for his friends as well as Hermione.
It took a bit while until Hermione and her friends came. Draco scoffed once he'd seen the Ron and Harry with her.
Professor Snape came, and Draco got his both eyes and attention to him. He was very excited to learn and brew. But Instead of actually learning something in the first day, Snape's attention was caught on to the famous Harry Potter.
"What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Even though Draco doesn't know the answer, he sniggered at Harry, who was left speechless because he doesn't know a thing. But little brave Hermione raised her hand eagerly wanting to answer.
She must be showing off to me. Draco smirked. I bet she doesn't even know the answer.
Draco opened his textbook, looking for the answer in case Snape calls a different student. But he still focused on Harry himself, and asked another question.
"Where would Mr. Potter look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?" Hermione raised her hand once more, looking more eagerly. and to Draco, oddly a little attracting.
Draco shush! snap out of it! He thought to himself as he shook his head.
He was then getting impatient by the fact that Harry still hasn't answered. By the end of the class, Draco was dissapointed because the only thing they did was take down notes, and not learning how to make a potion.
"I can't believe Potter ruined a perfectly good day and all because he doesn't know a thing." said Draco, picking up his books and Crabbe and Goyle just nodded.
"Hey, look! Hermione must've accidentally left her book" Crabbe pointed at the table where Hermione sat.
"I'll get it" Draco offered, walking over her table and picking it up. Hermione had written a small tag in the book so everyone knew it was hers in case it's gone missing. She has nice hand-writing. He thought, making him smile. "Hey, Malfoy! Come on! We'll be late for the next subject!"
"I'm coming!" Said Draco, tucking Hermione's books into one of his books he was carrying. But what he doesn't know was that Snape was still inside the classroom, just re-organizing the potions. He noticed Draco.

It was lunch time, and Draco was clutching Hermione's textbook in his hand, ready to give it to her. He was making his way to the Gryffindor table when all of a sudden Ron and Harry showed up, sitting beside her.
Draco's small smile had gone.
Before Hermione could even notice, Draco puts her book back into his robes and stormed off to the Slytherins' table.
He sat down angrily, and then took a big plate of mashed potatoes; Blaise and Pansy noticed him by his expressions so Blaise asked, "What's wrong with you mate?"
"Nothing" He let out a fake laugh, but his grudge didn't leave him.
"Can't you guess?" said Pansy sarcastically. "What's wrong, Malfoy? Can't get Hermione yourself?" Pansy teased. Draco gave her a disgusted look, stabbing his mashed potatoes.
