The next day, everyone had gone out for breakfast as usual, owls dropping down packages and letters to everyone, not until this day, when an owl swoops down on Draco to give him a red letter. Everyone in the slytherin table gasped and laughed at him, yet he was so clueless what it really was.
Pansy and Blaise exchanged glanses. "Did you tell on him?" Blaise whispered.
"No! I was about to, but then I got lazy and lost my concern,"
"Huh, fascinating. Must be an invitation" said Draco with a lopsided smile.
"Uh oh, here it goes" said Goyle, as the three of them, Pansy, Blaise and Crabbe put their hands on their ears and closed their eyes.
Draco dramatically and slowly opened the invitation, smiling, but he wasn't expecting that something abruptly and shocking would happen.
Draco Lucius Malfoy how dare you disobey your own father like this! Befriending a mudblood and buying muggle books? What has gotten into to your mind?! I work for the ministry of magic for Merlin's beard, Draco! Say goodbye to hogwarts and to that pathetic little mudblood you call a friend, because tomorrow I shall drop you out of that worthless school!
then the letter ripped apart itself. Everyone's laughter had exchanged into silence, as Draco gulped and took heavy breaths, his heart began to sank, almost as if he was about to cry infront of everyone else in the great hall.
He glanced over Hermione, who had apparently heard Draco's howler. She looked rather sad at what she overheard.
But Draco didn't want to cry, not infront of everyone atleast. So, he stood up and ran back to his bed to cry his heart out. The pain he had felt was driven him, he was embarrassed in front of the whole school. As much as that, he dissapointed his father too.
He hid himself under his blanket and under the pillows, forcing himself to stop crying, but he couldn't.
Until Blaise started waking him up, shaking him and said, "Oi mate, wake up! we're going to be late for potions!"
Draco jumped out from his bed, his heart was racing as if he was being chased. "Man, I heard you say some crazy things in your sleep. You were whining and everything, even kept Crabbe up all night because of your nightmare"
"Nightmare?"
"Yeah. Oh by the way, an owl had given you a package. Here," said Blaise, handing out a small box.
"Oh. Okay, thanks" Draco nodded, "I'll catch up with you later. Just tell Professor Snape I'm sick"
"Yeah you should have breakfast first, you look awful! I'll see you later, mate"
When Blaise was out, Draco was finally alone in the boys dormitory. That was just a dream.. A horrible nightmare. He thought to himself, still panting. He glanced over the package, picking it up as he slowly, and anxiously opens it.
It was a black box with a note placed in front of it which read,
Draco,
I've used this so your father wouldn't catch me writing a letter to you about the muggle born. This is the last piece to ever exist from the whole wizarding world, being passed on from generations to generations of Malfoys. The other ones were taken by the ministry, so I hope you put this one into good use. I trust you, Draco. Use it with utmost care. Do not let anyone catch you when you are using this
Love,
Mother
he set the note aside, to reveal the box with a shiny golden M engraved at the front of the box. He slowly opens it, and still being nervous, he found something quite unfamiliar to his eyes.
