When Hermione had walked out of Snape's classroom, Harry and Ron were both waiting for her by the door.
"What happened? what did he say?" Harry asked.
"Nothing, he just gave me this, he thinks I left something at his classroom yesterday, it's not mine though" Hermione showed them a package.
                              "What's inside?" Ron asked.
"I don't know," Hermione started untying the ribbon when Harry exclaimed, "Don't open it!"
                              "Why not?"
"what if this is part of Snape's plan? a plan to kill us or something? what if he found out about we went inside the forbidden corridor?" Harry whispered.
"But he doesn't know what's inside either. He said he just... found it" she turned the package around to read the unfamiliar handwriting.
"You know what? let's go take this to Hagrid after class, let's see what he says about this" said Ron, as the trio went back to their respective classes.
Hours have passed and at their final class, the three quickly made their way to Hagrid's hut, knocking on the door very loudly and quickly. "Hagrid, Hagrid, Hagrid!" they called out.
They knew he was in there because of the loud stomps coming from the inside. Hagrid opens his door to let the children in, asking what's the commotion about.
"Snape found this in his classroom yesterday. He told Hermione that it was for her because it's got her name on it" said Harry, handing out the package to Hagrid, he then examined it from front to back, and all of its sides.
"We're afraid that if we open it, there's something dangerous inside." said Hermione.
Hagrid abruptly shook the package, but no sound had come out. He knocked on it, but no wood like sound, or steel, or metal sound. He took the courage to open the package, and the trio covered their faces, in fear of something explosive.
But it wasn't a bomb, or any hex; it was a book covered in plastic.
"It's just a book?" Hagrid looked at it.
Hermione peeked thru her hand, and then she gasped. "Anne of green gables!"
"Anne of green what?" said Ron.
"Anne of green gables! It's one of the books that I wished to have! Gosh, my parents must've sent me this! I guess the owl who delivered it got lost yesterday." she took the book from Hagrid's hands.
"that's it? just a muggle book?" Ron furrowed his eyebrows.
"Oh come on, Ron. this is not just any book, it's a coming-of-age book! Haven't I told you about this yet?" she asked the two.
"I forgot," said Harry, scratching the back of his head.
"I didn't care," said Ron, shrugging.
"Uh, whatever. you guys wouldn't understand." she scoffed. "I'm going to write my parents a thank you card for this early present!" she said, as she ran out the hut.
"Wait! what about Snape?!" Harry called out.
"I'll catch up with you two later!" she yelled back from a distance.
On her way to the gryffindor common room, she spotted Snape and Draco talking, and thought that this could be a useful information about Snape's mischief.
she hid in one of the large pillars, trying to hear their conversation.

"Was anybody there earlier?" Draco asked.
