Hermione didn't reply, though she opened her mouth to say something, but she closed them back instead. Ron may have lost something to make Lavender leave him for good, but Hermione felt relieved that she just made him jealous. But somehow, it didn't matter as much as it would be now that she's even more curious as to what Draco's been up to lately.
It was true that he is in fact mysterious, but she wasn't taking that as her final answer. So, she had to confront him alone. But how?
Ginny tried to intervene with Ron and Harry who were both confused, and Ginny asked Hermione her plans afterwards. "So, you made Ron slightly jealous, but really he's just annoyed by the fact that you're overly obsessed with the ferret" said Ginny, looking at Hermione who was busy doing her essay at the library.
"overly obsessed? what are you talking about? I'm not obsessed" she laughs, her eyes still darted at the pages.
"Oh, okay, then what is this?" she pulls out the parchment hanging from one of her books, and it had something to do with Draco and clues that she found interesting--Ginny blinked at the words written down. "I can't believe after all this time you're still in love with him.. I thought you fancied Ron?"
"I am not in love with him, sit down!" she whispered loudly, taking back the parchment paper from her hands. "Besides, I only liked Malfoy before.. not... now" her words trailed off when speaking of the devil did Draco himself entered the library only by himself.
"I don't know what kind of spell he's put into you but if you are, we should take you down to Slughorn, okay?" said Ginny. "Anyway, I'll be off, need to practice for quidditch tomorrow, wish me luck" she winked, exiting the library.
Then, Hermione eyed Malfoy when he wasn't looking, practically finding himself a seat when almost every table was occupied except for hers. Then in the corner of her left eye, he dissapeared. Hermione's curiosity grew bigger, but Ginny was right, she was starting to get obsessed with the boy even if she shouldn't be. This was only a plan to make Ron jealous which had somewhat somehow failed. She should've stopped it, but no, Hermione stood up to take another book.
She scanned all over each shelves, probably waiting to see Malfoy again, but no blond haired boy was in sight. She then gave up and went back to finish two of her essays which were due in the next three days.
Time has passed by, students start to decrease at the library until Hermione was the only one left inside, but never has she ever seen Malfoy get out through the library door, or atleast that's what she thinks.
When she was done with her essays, she took the books back to the shelves but before exiting, she heard one book fall off the properly placed shelf. She quickly turned her head around and walked over to the book to pick it up-- before she placed it back to the shelf, she peeked through the gap to see the restricted section of the library. It was Malfoy inside the restricted section reading a book, but how did he get in there?
It wasn't long until he felt someone was looking at him, so he stood up and went upstairs of the library. Of course, Hermione followed him.
When she entered, she crept upstairs, trying not to make a noise, but to her surprise, he wasn't even there either. Hermione started to think this was all in her mind. So, she decided to finally leave and head to the bathroom to atleast freshen up.
She insisted to go to the first floor bathroom where no one usually goes to, because of Moaning Myrtle, but before she could even go inside, there was someone crying on the boys' bathroom. She wanted to go ask Myrtle to go check the boy on the bathroom but neither she was inside her usual cubicle. Hermione had to go check the boy out herself.
First she peeked thru the open door of the bathroom, and she could hear Myrtle talking, "I'm a good listener, we can talk about it" Hermione started to eavesdrop. He could hear him sniffling in between his words, "I don't want to talk about it!"
