Lucy was laughing with her friends as they walked to class. Weaving in and out of the students, they managed to carry on a conversation over the drone of the school day.

"Oh dear," Emily nodded her head to the right, "Look who's coming over." Lucy stifled a groan as Josh strided over to them. "Hello ladies," he greeted them in a greasy tone- or maybe that was just his hair- "You looks good today Lucy."

"I mentally correct your grammer everytime you approach me, Josh."

"You could say thank you."

"I could, but that would encourage you to continue the conversation- something I am desperate to avoid."

"Aren't you a fire ball today?" He smirked and slid his arm around her shoulder, "I like it."

"If you would like to keep that arm attached to your body-" a voice threatened, "I would sugguest you remove it from my sister's shoulder."

"Careful Peter," another deep voice teased, "Don't do anything you wouldn't explain to the paramedics."

Peter and Caspian came from behind, Peter placing his arm around Josh's shoulder. "I wouldn't mind explaining Josh's future injury to anyone- the principal, the police, the coroner..."he gave Josh's shoulder a friendly squeeze. Josh dropped his arm and bolted down the hallway, leaving everyone to state after him.

"Huh..."Peter pulled a face, "That was easy." He shrugged, before turning to Lucy, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Lucy smiled, "I almost feel bad from him. He can't take a hint."

Peter nodded absent-mindedly, his eyes now trailing after Debora Barr, who was making a face at her friends as they walked by. Lucy snorted, "Go on." She rolled her eyes. Peter flashed her a smile before running after Debora.

"He's worse than Josh." Lucy giggled and then bid her friends goodbye. She and Caspian walked towards Econmics, the one class they shared.

"Men in love act like idiots." Caspian shrugged, looking straight ahead.

"I think people in love act like idiots..." Lucy countered, "Or at least feel like it."

"I suppose that's true," Caspian considered, I feel like and idiot Everytime I see-" he cut himself off.

"I'll eventually find out who you like." Lucy teased but felt her heart twist painfully in her chest. She lowered her eyes to the ground, staring at her feet as she turned into class- completely missing Caspain's longing state after her.
