Lucy loved the library- it was her favorite place in the entire castle. She could roam for hours, staring at the seemingly endless book titles.
Then, once she had found a book to read, the question became where to settle down and read it. There was the corner by the windows- Lucy had a pillow nestled back there. Or there were a few scattered chairs about, mostly hanging under paintings. Lucy had three favorites paintings: one of her and her siblings escaping the wolves when the waterfall had suddenly thawed. There was a meadow that Susan had painted during an artist phase she had- it was awful but Lucy loved it all the same. Her last one she loved was of her an Caspain's wedding- for obvious reasons. It had been a cold winter's day, and it began to snow when they kissed (to this day, it felt like Aslan's wedding gift to her).
Lucy decided to relax on one of the couches and began reading. She was so engrossed in the story, she didn't notice the hour grow late.
That's why Caspian found her hours later, fast asleep on the couch instead of in bed. He smiled softly, then carefully removed the book from her sleeping grasp. Then he lifted her into his arms and carried her to their chambers.
