Grey walked in the door to his small shack and was greeted by complete silence.
It wasn't anything different from usual.
His father was probably in his office, up to his neck in paperwork or maybe at work with a client like always.
Grey put his soaking wet shoes on the welcome mat and pulled off his jacket.
His jeans had dried, the mud hardened and flakes fell off when he moved. He changed in his room quickly and then went to make dinner.
Even though it was nine, he still had to make something for him and his father to eat.
His father was always too busy, and if not for Grey he would probably starve to death, locked in his office and buried in paperwork.
Grey loved his father, and there was a time when he was a good dad.
There was a time when Grey was his dads whole life.
But nowadays that time seems long gone.
