They walked up the hill together.
Grey walked with Blue, matching her stride for stride.
He was curious.
He'd never seen the other side of this hill.
She was quiet.
Observant.
Grey never realized how much shorter than him she was.
Walking side by side, he felt strangely protective of her.
"You know, I've never seen the other side of this hill."
Grey told her.
She looked at him in disbelief.
"How long have you lived here?"
"My whole life. I've just never been to this side of town. My dad works in the next town over, so we always go there for everything. It's shorter I guess."
Blue gave him an almost smile.
"I've lived here for almost a year now, this hill is my favourite sight so far."
"Must be quite some sight,"
Grey said as they approached the top.
"It's definitely a beautiful sight to see. Are you ready?"
