Grey pulled off his boots at the door.

His father's car was absent from it's spot in the driveway.

He ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

He probably didn't even come home.

On numerous occasions his father stayed at the office over night which suited Grey just fine.

Grey moved through his house to his room slowly.

He glanced in at his dad's home-office, confirming his suspicions.

It's better that he's away anyways.

It's easier to pretend he's just busy doing office work elsewhere then when he's home.

When he's home it's much harder to see things other than the way they are.

His father is more of a roommate then anything.

Like two ships passing in the night.

Grey ducked into his room to change quickly before rushing back to the door.

His father and he shared the same name but little else apart from material things and memories.

Did his father even have any room in his busy life for memories?

With an audible sigh Grey took one last sweeping glance around before walking out the door.

And into a much better reality starring Blue and a park at the base of a hill.
