Her sister helped her mother get into bed and then came to join her at the table.
There was an awkward silence as Blue ate and her sister watched, seeming lost in thought.
Blue blinked to keep from crying, not wanting her sister to see her upset.
"What are you doing?"
Her sister asked.
"Eating dinner?"
She replied gesturing to her plate.
"No, not like right now. I mean what are you doing everyday? Why do you leave? Are you doing something I should be concerned about?"
Blue let out a loud sigh.
She could feel her sisters eyes burning holes in the side of her face as she waited for her answer.
"I don't know. It's just- it's so cramped in here. There's no freedom."
Her sister looked insulted.
"I'm sorry you feel that way. But mom and I are doing our best here. You know that."
Blue felt frustrated.
Her sister just didn't understand her.
No one ever does.
