CHAPTER 10: TRUTH OR DARE

An hour later my I felt slightly woozy and all I’d drank was half a bottle of bubbly. I think this was what people meant when they referred to being tipsy. Everything Stacie did seemed ridiculously funny and outrageous.

‘Oh my god!’ she giggled, ‘we really need to get ready. It’s almost six!’

I laughed and aimed to stand up. Unfortunately my body had other ideas and I stumbled a little before Stacie caught my arms. ‘Oopsie daisy... hey babe, you need a bikini I’d forgotten! Second drawer down on the left.’

I waltzed my way across her room and into the closet, my hidden sober self falling in love with the racks full of designer shoes, bags and clothes. Pulling open the designated draw I find the bikinis she’d been referring to. Every color and design under the sun, every brand, every shape. I finally settled on a light turquoise halter with gold metal straps.

‘How about this?’ I queried sticking my head out of the closet.

‘Oh hon, that's gonna look stunning! Put it on, put it on!’ she ushered me into the bathroom.

After clicking the lock shut (I wasn’t that drunk!) I stripped out of my clothes and kicked them into a pile on the floor. Pulling on the bikini, I realised with surprise that the bottoms slid easily over my thighs and came to rest on my butt. Frowning I checked the label. Size four. Wow, I’d finally done it, my target from day 1! Fighting the urge to run and scream I pulled the top over my boobs and rearranged it.

Biting my lip, I frowned a little. It was very revealing. The plunging neckline showed an awful lot of cleavage and the bottoms were cut in such a way half my ass was on show.

‘Oh man up, Rebecca.’ I said out loud before undoing the door and strutting out.

My eyes gazed around the room until I found Stacie. The glass wall was slid back and I could just about make out her lithe figure silhouetted against the balcony wall. Padding barefoot along her room, I slipped outside. I noticed now that she had already changed, a baby pink bandeau bikini that pushed her boobs practically to her neck. Suddenly I felt less self conscious and went to stand with her.

‘it’s beautiful, the sunset.’ She purred.

‘I know.’ I replied. The view from the balcony was stunning. Golden bronze sunset which set the clouds on fire, met the horizon far into the distance, its reflections bouncing off onto the flat waters of a giant swimming pool.

Stacie bit her lip, ‘do you think I’m beautiful Bex?’ she queried.

I was taken off guard, ‘yes, I do.’ I answered honestly.

She pouted and then smiled, ‘we should probably get going.’ I watched as she skirted back inside and pulled a loose lace shirt over her bikini. Throwing some denim shorts at me I caught them and frowned.

‘Can’t I wear a top?’

‘No. It’s your first homecoming party, get those boobs out!’

I sighed and pulled the shorts on. At least my butt was covered. She grabbed her phone and slipped it down her bikini top, ‘let’s go hon!’

Thirty minutes later we pulled up at the party. I thanked Claire for dropping us off and followed Stacie onto the beach. Warm sand tickled beneath my toes, the scent of salt prudent in the air.
