"I'll never leave you again"

[Okay so this is when El is back, so let's say season 2. You choose age]

Mike and the boys were in the basement, chatting.
They were waiting for El to come downstairs, she was getting dressed.
They were going to show her how to play Dungeons and Dragons.

El was in Nancy's bedroom, Nancy had helped her choose her outfit. She was placing a white headband on El's short hair, pulling it back.
Eleven chewed the inside of her cheek.
"Nancy?"
"Yeah?"
Eleven turned around, facing Nancy.
"How was Mike when I was gone?"
Nancy was surprised by the sudden question, she didn't know, but Eleven had had that question jumping around her head for a long time.
Nancy furrowed her eyebrows, remembering those painful nights were she had to sleep with Mike because he had dreams were El was back, or nightmares that were related with Eleven.
Remembering the night of the Snowball.
Remembering how Mike would barely talk.
Remembering how Mike looked a mess.
Remembering how Mike would never leave the basement, or how he would always refuse to take down the fort.
How sometimes he wouldn't want to go on his bike to school, because he would see his backseat empty.
Remembering how sad Mike was.
Eleven stared at her.
Nancy looked at Eleven and took a deep breath.
Nancy thought El should know how much she meant to Mike.
So she started explaining.

"Dustin stop it!" Lucas exclaimed
"You stop it!"
Mike rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Would you two stop bicke-"
He was stopped by El running down the stairs. He looked up at her, tears were running down her cheeks.
"El what's-"
He was stopped by her hugging him, and sobbing onto his chest.
Mike wrapped his arms around her torso, really tight.
Lucas and Dustin made a confused look.
"I don't know" Mike mouthed.
Dustin and Lucas pointed up the stairs, they should leave them alone.
Mike nodded.
They ran up the stairs, closing the door behind them.
Mike rubbed his hand up and down El's back.
"What's wrong El?" He said, in a very soft tone.
"I'm sorry" She mumbled against his chest.
"Why? You did nothing wrong."
Eleven looked up at him, her eyes meeting his.
"Promise me something"
Mike slowly nodded his head.
"Promise we'll always be together, no matter what." She said, almost as a whisper.
Mike looked at the brunette girl in his arms.
"I promise"
She faintly smiled and buried her head again in his chest. They eventually sat down in the floor, Mike running his hand through her hair.
"I'll never leave you again" El whispered against his chest.
Mike's heart beat faster. Eleven noticed and smiled to herself.
Mike tightened his grip and kissed her head.
"I know" He said, a tear running down his cheek.

Nancy viewed the scene from the top of the stairs, tears running down her cheeks, and smiling to herself, knowing her brother was finally happy again.
