Your POV

I was getting ready for a day of hiking in the woods with my best friends, Shawn Mendes, Cameron Dallas, and Nash Grier. I put on a f/c tank top, a pair of shorts, and a pair of hiking boots.

"Y/N! Are you ready?" I heard Shawn yell.

"Be there in a minute!" I hollered back as I finished tying my shoelace.

I hurried downstairs grabbing my dark brown backpack. I scurried out the door, slamming the door behind me.

"Finally!" Nash joked.

"Haha, very funny." I said rolling my eyes.

"Come on you guys." Shawn said as he got into his Jeep.

I got in and Nash and Cameron followed.

An hour later...

"We are here." Shawn said.

"Finally! Why did it have to take that long?" I whined.

Shawn rolled his eyes. Okay, if I stand up too long or sit down too long I whine and complain. Just doing it is for my enjoyment and really I just do it. They always get annoyed by it, that is why it's so enjoyable.

"I don't want to hear complaining while we're on the hike." Cameron said his head tilted back and rolling his eyes.

"Oh come on! You guys love me no matter how much I complain!" I said trying to hold back my laughter.

"You are right, Your Highness." Nash said bowing like I was royalty.

We all burst out into laughter. They gave my the nickname of "Your Highness" or "Princess" just because I act like some piece of royalty that complains for walking too much.

After the laughter ceased we hiked for three hours. I gave in about 30 minutes in. The guys gave in when it hit the three hour and thirty minute mark. We came about to a waterfall to rest.

The stream below ran all the way down to the start of the trail. I stood there scared while the guys exchanged excited looks at each other.

"Oh come on. You know I can't understand Guy Logic!" I said referring to the excited looks they were giving to each other.

"You wanna jump?" Shawn asked.

I looked over towards the edge. It was a long way down.

"Umm...Mayyybe..." I said hesitantly.

"Come on..." Shawn pleaded, "We'll let you complain all you want..."

Alright fine, but I usually do it anyways.

"Okay..." I said.

"Yes!" The guys said in unison.

I walked over to the edge, pacing my breaths steadily.

"You okay, Y/N." Shawn said.

"Just fine." I lied.

I was so scared. I guess Shawn noticed it too because he offered his hand.

"We'll jump together." He said reassuringly.

I nodded as I took his hand. Then we jumped.

The current flowed swiftly. I thought if the currents' force would break the hold I had on Shawn's hand. So, the grip I had on his hand tightened.

We reached the small lake that the waterfall connected to. I pushed upward towards the surface gulping in air. I noticed Shawn wasn't beside me.

Oh no! He must've got lost in the current! I thought.

"Shawn!" I yelled on the verge of tears.

"Quit screaming. You'll shatter someone's eardrum." Shawn said.

I turned around to see Shawn soaking wet on the bank of the lake. I swam towards him.

"I thought I lost you!" I said giving him a hug.

"Don't worry, you'll never lose me." Shawn said chuckling.
