Shawn's POV
"Y/n," I whine.
"Yeah?" She asks dreamily with her chin resting in the palm of her hand.
I sigh, "You really need to get over him. He doesn't talk to you anymore."
"I know, but I can't get over him," Y/n replies, not moving from her position.
Y/n over here has a crush on one of my best friends. She met him in 7th grade and liked him ever since. Only then we didn't know each other since I moved here during the summer. I love Y/n, but she doesn't love me back.
"And I'm gonna stop staring now," she says averting her eyes from where she was looking.
I chuckled, "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea."
She playfully glares at me and smacks me on my arm.
"Ow!" I flinch, smiling.
Y/n smirks at me and says, "You deserved it! You know I've liked him forever."
"Y/n, he doesn't like you anymore. You can see that right?" I reply.
She looks down to her lap, and I know that she knows the answer. She lifts her head up to face me and I see tears in her eyes.
"I can't get over him Shawn. I j-just can't," she sobs into her hands.
I pull her close to me and hug her. I hate seeing her like this, but I don't know how I can help. The bell rang, dismissing us from the cafeteria and to our next class. We both had Social Studies or in our case, Geography next.
We walked to the class and we sat down in our seats. Both of us were in the front row and she was to my right. Meanwhile, Lucas walked in and sat in his seat, which was to my left.
"Hey man! What's up?" Lucas greets.
"Nothing much. You?" I greet back.
"Same," he replies.
Our teacher walked in and started class.

About halfway through class, Y/n looked over to Lucas and he was looking over at her. She smiled at him, but he turned away, not returning the smile.
Y/n's face falls and I could see the sadness in her eyes. She goes back to work without any hesitation. My blood boils. Why is he being a jerk to her? They were friends at one point and it just fizzled out over the five years.
The bell later rings and we go to our next class.
