(This is an imagine based on something that is going on in my life rn so bear with me. I am using fake names for their privacy.)

Your POV

I sit at my table in the cafeteria with two of my friends, Jack and Valerie. They're dating and it sucks because I'm the third wheel. At another table I see an ex of mine with his friends with his earbuds in.

Before you say anything, I know I'm not supposed to be wondering what my ex is doing, but I have a reason to. A while ago, we dated and he broke it off and never spoke to me again even though he says we're still friends. One of his acquaintances, which I happen to be "friends" with says that my ex never cared. I know...weird, but thing is my ex, Drew says he does. Then again he doesn't talk to me.

"Y/n, you need to stop with this! He doesn't care about you at all," Jack says.

And yes, Jack is that acquaintance. I can't say friend because Jack doesn't like Drew, but he talks with him a lot because he "has to". Another thing: the next day, I'll see him sitting over BESIDE Drew during lunch. He doesn't seem to talk to him then...

"Well, how come you sit over there with him every other day?" I ask.

"Because some of my friends are over there," Jack replies.

"I thought Conner was your friend, why don't you sit with him?" I spit angrily.

Jack goes silent as I grunt satisfactorily.

"That's what I thought."

"Shawn wanted me to lie. I am sorry, but Drew is so annoying! Please don't go back to him," Jack informs.

My blood boils. Shawn has a crush on me and we're friends, but how dare he! He knows that I needed the truth! The bell rings and all of us go back to class.

I get home and slam my door shut, slinging my backpack on the floor and land face down onto my bed. I hate my life at this point. My phone rings and it's Shawn.

Amused, I click the green button, accepting the call.

"Hey Y/n, how was your day?" Shawn asked, a hint of nervousness in his voice.

"Great," I said and with a happy time but it changed to an angry one real quick, "until I found out a certain secret that you wanted to keep from me."

Heavy breathing was heard through the phone, and I could tell that he was scared.

"Y/n, I can explai-" I cut him off.

"What is there to explain?" I ask, blood boiling, "You knew that this was important to me! You knew that, but you used my feelings against me to benefit you!"

I sigh, "You're so selfish! I honestly think that career of yours has ruined you. Ruined our friendship and I don't think there's anything you can do or say that can change that."

"I understand. I screwed up and if you happen to change your mind, I'll be waiting," he said after a long pause, "I'll wait."

He hung up and tears welled up in my eyes. I cried until I fell asleep that night, feeling betrayed, depressed, and alone.

(This hasn't happened, I just think this'll happen. Idk y. Sry for the weird update and I have a request up next!)
