Your POV
I woke up in the middle of the night to hear Orchid crying. I groaned lightly and got up to go to her crib.
"Shh, it's alright. Mommy's here." I cooed.
Yet... she's still crying.
"🎵Hush little baby, don't say a word. Momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird. 🎵" I sang to her.
I bounced trying to get her to fall asleep. It never works. Suddenly, I remember that she has a favorite song. Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift.
"🎵I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'll never let you go. When all those shadows almost killed your light. I remember you said don't leave me here alone. But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight. Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound...🎵" I sang.
She stopped crying and looked at me curiously. I smiled and she smiled toothlessly back. I layed her back in the crib and rocked it.
"I wuv you, Momma." She said before falling asleep.
I walked back to bed, thinking about how innocent my child is as I instantly fell asleep as my head hit the pillow.

(Morning)
I woke up to hear my phone buzzing. I never put my phone off silent. I checked it and found that Shawn was calling me.
I sat up and accepted the call.
"Hello Shawn." I said.
"Hey YN. How are you and Orchid?" He asked.
"Good. Can you come over real quick? I need to talk to you." I said.
"Kay. Be there in five minutes." Shawn replied.
And he hung up. I sighed and and walked to my closet. I got dressed in a nice t shirt and blue jeans. I carried Orchid downstairs and set her in her high chair. I gave her her formula and soon I heard a knock at the door.
"Be right back sweet sugarbears." I said to Orchid.
She nodded.
I smiled and I opened the door.
"Hey YN. What do you need?" Shawn asked.
"I've been thinking about us." I said, "I hate the idea of Orchid growing up without her father. I never knew what I'd do without mine. So what do you say?" I said.
Shawn smiled. "I'd like that and I promise I won't do anything to hurt you or Orchid."
"Well, come on in." I said stepping aside to let him in.
He walked in and immediately walked to Orchid.
"Hello baby girl."
She just tilted her head in curiosity and looked at me.
"Momma who is he?" She asked.
Shawn's jaw dropped, "She can talk now?"
I nodded, "That’s what happens when time flies."
"Oh." Shawn said.
I giggled.
I am happy that I have my family fixed.
