"Shawn, you're such a dork!" I laugh, hitting his arm playfully.
"Hey! That hurt!" Shawn replied with sarcasm dripping off his words.
Shawn and I were in his bedroom just talking and laughing like friends do, then suddenly the door opened and Hailey entered, a look of disapproval on her face. It instantly faded away with an almost fake smile and spoke with a jealous tone.
"Hey Shawn, we'll be late for the Halloween party if we don't hurry," Hailey informed.
"Oh yeah! Did you wanna come, Y/n?" Shawn responds, a look of curiosity on his face as he spoke towards me.
I shake my head and giggle, "No, go ahead, I don't wanna be the third wheel."
He laughs along with the joke while he grabs his jacket. Shawn hugs me goodbye and exits through the door, while Hailey hangs back and closes the door. Grabbing my phone I look through Instagram and leave an app open.
I look up to see her standing near the foot of the bed.
"May I help you?" I asked, a tone of annoyance sort of evident in my voice.
"Look, I know what you're trying to do," Hailey states.
"...and that would be?" I ask.
She scoffs, "You're trying to steal Shawn away from me."
Fake little...
"Listen, I don't know where the actual hell you got that idea from, but I'm not trying to 'steal' Shawn away from you," I counter back.
"You're a fake b*tch, you know that?" Hailey laughs lightly.
"At least I'm not the one cheating on a sweet guy with someone who is cruel to his fans!" I shoot back.
(Again, no hate on anyone!)
"How do you know about that?" Hailey asks, shouting.
"Someone called you last week with that caller ID of 'Bae', thinking it was Shawn, I accepted the call. Turns out it was Justin!" I recall.
"Hailey! You coming?" Shawn shouts from the living room.
She sighs heavily, "Don't you dare say a word to him."
She left with the threat hanging in the air and I smirk as I hit the stop button on the recording app.
"I won't have to."
