Brianne's POV
It was in the middle of the night and my parents were asleep. My backpack was packed with all of my essentials inside. I picked up the backpack and slung it over my shoulder. I opened the door to my room, and quietly tiptoed out the door, closing the door behind me.
I hurried down the stairs, making sure no one was following me. I suddenly heard the creak of the floorboards, signaling someone else was up.
Darn it. I thought.
I hurried to the door and snuck out before anyone could see me. I ran toward the park, where I was meeting Shawn at and I saw him sitting on the edge of a wooden bench.
"Shawn." I said.
He turned to me and smiled. He got up and walked towards me.
Shawn's POV
I walked towards Brianne, her dark brown hair fluttering in the breeze. She looked into my eyes and I could see fear frozen in her blue eyes. I brought my hand up to her cheek and caressed it.
"Everything is going to be fine, Brianne. I promise." I reassured her.
"I know, it's just that I'm afraid of what my parents are going to say." She informed.
"They don't have to know, now look at me and believe me when I say: I love you and I know we can get through this." I said.
She smiled at me and hugged me. I hugged back as I rested my chin on the top of her head. I kissed the top of her head as I pulled away and I took her hand in mine.
I noticed that tears were gliding down her cheeks. I wiped them away as she gave me a weak smile.
"Now are you ready to run away?"
