Your POV

I was at the beach, running along the shore to get away from my best friend, BFF/n. We were playing tag and I collapsed on to the sand where our stuff was.

"Had enough Y/n?" She teased.

I pant, "Yeah. I'm done running I wanna swim instead!"

We get up and we start swimming and splashing each other in the face. I suddenly see a boy on a little inflatable raft swimming farther out to sea. I get an uneasy feeling as I hear the guy playing fetch with his dog calling his name repeatedly. No dog in sight. I suddenly see the boy being dragged under the water and blood gushing where he just was.

I scream loudly and I scream, "SHARK!"

My best friend and I hurry out of the water to get away from the shark, but I feel the shark's teeth sink into my leg. I scream again as I pound on the shark's head, trying to get him to set his jaws free of my leg. He eventually does  and my best friend helps me out of the water.

The lifeguard ran to me and put a towel around my leg to hopefully stop the bleeding.

"T-Thank y-y-you," I stutter.

"No problem miss," he replied.

That's all I remember before I blacked out.

I woke up in the hospital to see Chief Brody, my bestie, and the Mayor in the room.

"Are you okay?" BFF/n asked.

"Yeah I'm okay," I replied.

"I'm so sorry Miss..." The Mayor started.

"Y/n," I say.

"I'm sorry Miss Y/n about the attack, I was only thinking for the good of the town," Mayor Vaughn stated.

I sat there blinking then I replied with, "You knew there was a shark and you let the beach stay open? Just because you are selfish and wanted the money this town provides? Well count me out for all the summers to come."

"I tried to tell him Miss Y/n," Chief Brody chimed in.

"At least someone has their right mind in this town," I replied glaring at the Mayor.

BFF/n chuckled, "She's gotta point."

"We hired Quint as the gunman to kill the shark and he needs a crew. So would you wanna join?" Chief Brody asked.

"Hell yes," I stated.
