"OMG," I said screaming, frantically waving a small rectangular piece of paper in my hand, running towards my group of friends who were looking at me like I was crazy.

"Guess what my dad gave to me for my birthday last night?" I yelled. They all just looked at me "I'm going to Hawaii!" I screamed at them.

Last night my dad had gifted me the tickets, just me and him, on a trip to Hawaii. It was a work trip for him, so he would be away sometimes, but still... Hawaii. While he was gone I would sit by the pool or beach. I would read, tan, and be in Hawaii. I didn't care that he was there for work. Since I was turning 17 he wanted to do something just me and him before I go to college. So here I am going to Hawaii in a month for two weeks in the summer.

"Oh my god!" my one friend Jessica screams.

"I know!" I scream back. We all get into a rapid conversation about what it will be like and what I'm going to do and wear.

"What if you meet a hot boy?" asked my friend Lana, of course, she is the one to ask, she the boy crazy of the group. Her appearance fits her personality too, with long blonde hair and blue eyes, neverending legs and a good butt. Though I am still taller than her with my 5.7" frame.

"You did say your Dad would be away some." Yes, that was true but I wasn't going to Hawaii to meet boys, I was going to be with my dad, sun tan, and get my relaxing on.

We all knew that I wasn't that adventurous with guys, especially since I have ever only had a crush on one boy in all my high school career, Jason. Ever since grade 9 grade I've crushed, fantasies, and been, dare I say, insanely in love with him. He was just so good looking, and smart, and kind, and popular, and did I mention he was a smoke show. Tan skin, black flowing hair, chocolate eyes. I have tried liking another guy but I have always gone back to Jason.
My cheeks flush just thinking about him.

Jessica nudges me in the side. "Don't look now but hottie is looking this was," she flicks her green eyes to the left side of me, more heat spreads to my checks realizing who she is talking about.

Jason was looking over here, though probably not at me, probably at Lana, she was the prettiest out of all of us. Although Jessica, my best friend in the group, always thought he was looking at me. My group of friend is small and tight, there is about 6 of us. We have has some fights and some people who have left us but the 6 who stayed are it for me.

I'm not popular, definitely not the prettiest. I am the one who will be reading a book on a Friday when Lana is hooking up with her boyfriend of a week.

Well, Jessica and I will be reading a book. That why Jessica and I are so close, we connected over books and our fangirl personalities, we bonded over our same opinions over people and things, and the fact that we tell each other everything and have each other's back. She is my best friend in the group. I tell her more than the others, we do more together and all in all, she is my person.

I glance up at the clock hanging in the hall and realize I need to blast to class. I wave a quick goodbye, promising my presence at our usual lunch spot as I sprint up the stairs to the 3rd floor, sliding into my seat as our teacher walks in.

After two boring classes, I make my way to our usual spot. We sit on the floor in a hallway. As I join everyone who is already there I can tell they're in deep conversation about something. Jessica sees me and calls me over.

"I and Lana were just talking," she says, I instantly knew this wasn't good. "We need to go shopping for your trip!" I roll my eyes. We all know I was into fashion although I didn't apply the knowledge to myself. I could use a little touch-up, the only thing I ever wore to school was a sweater and leggings.

"We are going to make you look like a hot tumbler girl." Lana cuts in excitedly.

"If you log into Pinterest and go on my account you will already see a board that is called 'Sara's Hawaii Trip Goals'" she tells me raising her hands to create a banner as she says the name of the board dedicated to me. I pull up my phone.Like she said there, in fact, was a board as she had said.
