I wake in the morning laying in bed pulling out my phone. I was going to see if Becky and

Jessica were around. I wanted to do something before exams started and  I go away to Hawaii. I quickly send a test to our group chat called 'The Fam'. The group chat was that was only the 3 of us. I had another with everyone in my friend group buy I only wanted my besties today. I roll out of my bed starting my daily routine so that if we do go out I won't look like a hobo. As I walk into my room after my shower I see my phone on my bed light up. I swipe it up glancing at it while making my way to the closet. Jessica and Becky were both able to get together. I quickly put on some makeup and my outfit.

I was wearing shorts and a tank because of the heat outside. Running out the door while still slipping on my converse. I hop into Becky's waiting car as it honks for my presence, Jessica was already inside in the passenger seat forcing me into the back.
'So what are we going to do," Jessica asked. They both turn in their seats to looked at me.
"I just asked if you guys wanted to do something, not that I had something for us to do." I simply say with a shrug.
"How about," Becky says, putting the car into drive. "We go into downtown and get coffee?" Jessica and I nod as the car lurches forward.

We stop in front of a small cafe where we decide will be a cute place to start our day. The bell rings above us as we step into the delicious smelling coffee shop. I need coffee in my life, I can't live without it. We step up to order our drinks at the barista bar, I pay because it was my idea to go out and tell the girls to find a seat.

As I make my way toward the table they selected, balancing 3 drinks in my hand the bell signaling someone has walked in rings.
"What are you guys doing here?" I look up and I am met with Lana's angry blue eyes. I freeze looking over to Jessica and Becky for help. We all knew Lana overreacted when it came to situations like this.

Well, to be fair she overacted in every situation. When she wasn't invited and more than 2 people from out friend group were hanging outside of school she got mad. Though like a hypocritical person, it was fine when she did it.
"We were just grabbing a coffee before we were going to work on our project," Jessica says while grabbing her coffee saving me from the killer glances I was getting from Lana.
"Ok, ya whatever, you were doing a 'project'." she says dramatically.
"Actually, we were." Becky interrupts, looking Lana up and down with her mud coloured eyes. "See I have the rubric right here." it was Becky and I's English project. We had to write a 20-page contemporary story for English in a group of two. "Jessica was just here to help edit because she writes, reads, and is really good at English."
"Oh," Lana said flipping her blonde straight hair over er shoulder, her expression resembling one of a deer caught in a car's headlights. "Well ok, have fun!" she skipped off to the counter.

We practically ran out of the coffee shop and sprinted to the car.
Once the car had gotten back on the road I finally spoke up, "that was close."
"I know," Jessica breathed. "Beckey you were brilliant, why do you even have an English rubric in your pocket?"
"Well I wore these jeans yesterday as well, Sara and I finished our story and I guess I shoved it in my pocket and forgot about it till now."
"I feel bad," I say. "You know, all she wants is to be included."
"Ya well if she wants to be included in everything we do then she needs to start including us in everything she does," Becky state's, hands gripping the wheel.

Jessica reached for the radio and turns up the volume. Soon enough we all start dancing and singing along with the latest hit pop singles. We pulled up to a small parking lot for a park by the lake. The lake was pretty but sadly it was too polluted to swim in, but it was still nice to sit on the grass, in a tree's shade, and talk. We talk for what seemed to be forever. We talked about the latest school gossip, the newest couples, our early years of friendship, and everything else you could talk about. As we got into the conversations about our future and University applications Jessica spoke up about her growing hunger.

We decided that we would drive to a local pizza place and grab a bite to eat. We sat down as the waiter came to us. It was a pretty cute boy, our age. He took our drink orders, eyes lingering on Becky and scurried away.
"Did you see him. He was H.O.T" Beckey whisper yelled. I nodded in agreement although I would never be attracted to him. There is only one person I'm attracted to. As Becky continued obsessing over the boy's looks, twirling her short black hair around her fingers, I became lost in tough. What if I never tell Jason how I feel, what if I regret it for the rest of my life, what if he dates other girls? Jason has dated many girls obviously, being one of the hottest guys in school, but it breaks my heart every time.

Unlike most of my friend I have never had a boyfriend, I have never even gone on a date before. Beckey has had a boyfriend. She dated 2 boys while we have been in high school. One in grade 10, that relationship lasted 3 months, and another boy she went on a date with this year, though that never took off. Jessica has only ever had 1 boyfriend and they are still going strong, ever since last year. His name was Braden and they were perfect.

He came to eat with us somethimes, although never intruded on girl time or personal conversations. Only Lanas boy toys did that. She would always invite them to where we were hanging out, or just ditch us for them entirely. It was only when they broke up she would come back to us. It can be pretty annoying sometimes but we have gotten used to it and have come to terms with the fact that it is just the way she is. Although Brenden read and was smart. He treated Jessica amazingly and never pressured her. They were goals and they made me jealous.

I look over to Jessica as her phone starts to ring. She goes to pick it up though when I see 'Babe' as the caller id I reached for the phone before she could.
"Heyyyy babbbeeeee." I shout into the phone.
"Hi Sara." was the simple reply that came through the phone.
"sooooo, how is my bestie's boyfriend?"
"Ummmm good," he replies. "Can you put Jessica on?"
"RUDE," I scream into the phone. I look to Jessica, "Jessica," I wine. "Your boyfriend is being mean, he doesn't want to talk to me," I pout, handing her the phone. She laughs and takes it from my hand.
"Hey Bebe," she speaks into the phone, a few seconds pass. "Yes, I'm with the girls." "yes, I will call you when I get home." "ok, love you" she ends the call. Becky and I stare at her shocked. "What?' she asked worriedly.
"Y-y-you said that you loved him" Becky answered shocked.
"Oh ya, we said I love you on our last date.
"Oh my god," I shout "tell us everything." Becky and I leaning close so we could hear every detail. That's how we spent the rest of the afternoon, eating pizza while listening to Jessica's story of her and Brendon's exchange of the L word. Just the three of us Just the way I liked it.
