I wake up with my body on something hard and warm. I open my eyes and realize my left leg is hung over Jason's lower body, his arms encircling my body, my head resting on his chest.
I try to get up, though with every movement his hands hold me tighter. I hear him take in a sharp breath. I tilt my head to look into his now open eyes and blush bright red.
"Ummm. I need to go to the, ummm, bathroom," I stutter. Instantly Jason's arms withdrawal from me and I awkwardly slid out of the bed. I close the door to the bathroom, leaning on to te wall unable to stop smiling.
I do a happy dance in the bathroom, then collect my cool. I saunter out of the bathroom and grab the aloe. After asking Jason to do rub the solution onto my back, I walk to the closet. I look into the full-length mirror, seeing the redness and the horridness of my blistering burn have lessened.
I come out of the closet dressed in ripped jeans and a light long sleeve top, deciding to give my skin a break. I look to Jason who is sitting upright, leaning on the headboard of the king sized bed.
"What are you doing?" he asked as I pick up my large floppy hat and sunglasses.
"Well, I want to give my skin a rest so I was going to find a shady spot on the beach and read."
"Or," Jason tells me, shifting a little in his seat. "You could go on a date with me," he smirks confidently. I am shocked, did Jason just ask me out.
Thoughts were flying through my head a million miles per hour. "I'll be here to pick you up in an hour," he says walking out the door. After standing in the same spot or a minute trying to herd all my rapid thoughts I am finally able to comprehend what had just happened.
I am going on a date with Jason! I dash to the bathroom putting on a full face of makeup, then sending a quick text to the girls informing them of the news. I waltz into the living room, crashing into my dad.
"Well don't you look happy," he says looking me up and down, "feeling better? Skin ok?" he asked.
"Ya I'm fine Dad," I say giving him a kiss on the check then running to get the door when I hear a solid knock coming from the other side.
"Ready to go?" Jason greets me. He was dressed in jeans and a Hawaiian shirt. I nod grabbing my purse waving goodbye to my father.
"Ok, so I rented a convertible jeep for us to drive for the day." Jason proudly tells me. I smile to him as we walk out the hotel and he leads me to the awaiting red jeep. We get in, Jason driving out of the hotel and blasting the music.
We take winding roads along the ocean, the view so amazing it couldn't be described. He pulls out front of an arcade, parking the car in a space close to the door. I go to open the door but Jason tells me to stop and runs out around the car and opened my door for me, helping me down the raised truck.
We walk into the building and was greeted with the constant dinging of machines, neon carpets, and the laughing of children. Jason pays for som tokens to use in the games dragging me deeper into the arcade. We wandered around playing many games.
We played any game that did have a line, going head to head in many. Being a competitive person, and Jason being a competitive person made thing very difficult. We talked a lot of trash to each other.
After a good 3 hours of gaming, I sit on the floor and count the amount of tickets I had won, Jason doing the same.
"Ok, you tell me how much you got first," I tell Jason holding my tickets to my chest.
"Ok, Ok." he says putting his wad of tickets on the floor, "I won 476 tickets," he says confidently as if I couldn't beat him.
I start to laugh. "aw, you're so cute," I say to him like he is a puppy.
"How many did you get? He asks leaning back onto his hands.
"Oh, only the small amount of 607," I say laughing. Getting up doing a happy dance around Jason chanting that I won more tickets than him. He watched me with a smile on his face the whole time.
"Ok, ok. Let go get our prize." We go and greet a teen that looks our age in a striped arcade uniform. Jason and I browse the prizes and decide that we would put our tickets together and get a boogie board.
We leave the arcade with the small foam board in tow. Pulling out of the parking lot, instead of going to the hotel, Jason turns the car towards the downtown.
