I'm not like you... I'm not human

The water zebra, a pale blue shimmer reflecting off the green leafs, pricks up its ears on alert, it's eyes scanning the surroundings. It starts dancing and leaping about in your hand. It bolts. Running on the spot on your hand, a lion on your fingers prowling, stalking its prey. It pounces. The lion swallows the zebra in one and roars. You feel a tingle at the back of your mind, the water lion transforms into a perfect rose spinning on your palm. "Helka." You whisper and the rose freezes into a solid block of ice.

A knock wakes you from your secret place. You look up, a boy with golden hair and hazel eyes, his glowing white wings fluttering behind him. He leans against the tree he just knocked on, smiling at you. "Hey greenie."

You stare at him unsure at what he had said. "Greenie?" You say clearly confused.

"It's the name for a newbie, like you." He smiles, flashing his teeth as white as his wings. He sits opposite to you, his wings neatly fold on his back. He looks at you intensely as if he is confused as well.

"Why do they look at me weirdly? Afraid to talk to me?" You ask cautiously, not a clue who this guy was, only that earlier he had flown you out that massive metal crate.

"Because your different." He says gently like talking to a skitty mouse.

You frown. "But their also different. That little kid was magenta and that hairy guy had eight arms..." You look down at the grass rapidly growing around your feet, you shake your head and it stops half way up your calf, in a perfect circle around you.

"No it's not that, your a girl. They've never seen a girl before." He explains, picking a strand of grass from your circle and examining it.

You eye up this guy, words to defend yourself with already forming in your mind. "What?"

"Your the first girl in the glade." He snaps the strand in half and let's if fall to the ground. He sighs rubbing his brow. "The glade is..."

"I know what the glade is." You butt in defensively. You still can't workout what this guy is.

"And the maze?"

"Yeah." You feel a deep pit of hopelessness in your stomach.

"Guess Alby explained before you legged it." He laughs, but that dies down when he's sees your scowl. He leans back on his wings smiling. "That's beautiful." He says, making you blush. He nods at your rose, you turn even redder.

"Oh, yeah I don't know why I made it." You shrug and hold it out for him to take.

He laughs. "Don't worry, you didn't make it." He twirls it in his hand, inspecting every petal. "I didn't expect it to come out so well."

Your amazed the boy had the guts to call your work someone's else. "Who made it then?" You challenge folding your arms.

"I did." He taps his head smirking. "I'm.."

You roll your eyes understanding. "Your telepathic." You finish for him.

His flashes his white smile again, tapping the side of his temple. "Class 4...One of the highest here." His wings twitch making your eyes fixate on them. He notices and stretches them out wide. They were like an albatross, in full spread the light reflecting off of them. You look back in his heavenly eyes, he's clearly proud. "What about you? What can you do?"

You shake your head and look at the grass. They would think you as a freak, they would slit your throat.

He puts down the rose frowning, he asks the question again. He squeezes your hand. "It's alright, no one is going to hurt you."

You gently remove your hand from his. "Why don't you just find out yourself? I can feel you reading my thoughts." You shut your eyes and imagine a brick wall, stronger than 900 elephants, 10,000 ox, thicker than the stump of an oak tree.

You here Newt gasp in shock. "What the hell have you done?!" He exclaims. You feel him pressing against the wall, looking for a crack or way to dig under.

You open your eyes when he's given up, the wall disappears. "Your not the only one to control your mind."

You smile loving his confusion. "Your also telepathic?"  He sounds disappointed, so would you be if you thought someone else had your power.

"No, I'm an elf." You pull back your hair revealing your pointed ears and take out the lenses that make your eyes look normal.

"Woah." He gasps. "Your eyes... Their like a cats."

You laugh and go cross eyed. "Not quite, their a fraction rounder." You grow a daisy from the centre of your nose. "I have magic."
