Massive trigger warnings!!
The maze.
Was gone.
It was all behind, the glade, the grievers, the dead bodies of the girls who had valiantly given their lives so you may escape. And then the ones who had refused to leave, they were still in the glade probably dead by now.
It burned your heart, made you choke, you had lost your best friend and now you are living her dream. A safe bed for the night, food, no wicked and none of those bugs that always gave her the creeps.
You wave goodnight to Aris your only other best friend, being a boy these people had given him his own room. You wish you could be with him only because you had both lost friends, he lost Rachel and under his lying coat you could clearly see the same pain you felt.
You follow the girls into a room full of bunk beds, no one questioning when you moved to the furthest one, taking the top bed fell asleep still fully clothed.

The room was pitch black the only light from under the bathroom door, one girl had got up in the early morning waking you. Everyone else was silent not even Jane was snoring, you were stuck with your mind - not a good pairing. The image played over and over again. Your friend on the floor, her chest barely rising each single breath a fight for survival and you had watched, two grievers rolling for you as they left her to... To die.
Her blood.. It had been so dark and thick, spreading over her top and onto the grey concrete floor where it moved towards you. A finally cry for help left her lips so softly like a butterfly's touch and then the life floated out of her; cruelly snatched away in death's large net as he swung drifting up and down the maze corridor taking other lives as well. But, her, her's had shone so bright, filled with goodness while yours was broken, no light dared go near it and yet here you are, alive, and there she is on the maze floor stained red.
You punch the ceiling. "Why!" You scream arching your back allowing all air to seep out of your soulless body.
Automatically you rub your knuckles staring at the spot you had just attacked, your nostrils flared and eyes set.
Not a single noise of stirring rose from the room, not even the bed below. You listen getting scared. Why was everyone so quiet? You shrug maybe everyones knackered or they understand and are leaving you space. You doubt it, Chloe would have pointed up on it making a shroud remark like the bitch she was.
Suddenly there is a commotion outside the room, you sit listening. The door flings open and figures enter, they have no features - hidden by the light from outside. You watch, frozen in bed as these ... These men? Yes they were male but younger than all the rescuers. The intruders scanned the nearest beds, searching.
"Teresa!" One shouted.
Who the hell was Teresa? How was no one else awake? You instantly were scared, the fear made you forget about your friend, and drove you to the end of the bed. Where under the cover of darkness you climbed down the ladder each movement slow and steady.
Tiptoeing over to the nearest bed, you notice something weird. The bed was empty, the sheets neatly tucked in, not a single crease, and the pillow was still plumped and underneath the sheet just like when you arrived. Frantic you pull up the cover hopelessly searching for the others, you scan under, above, the other beds. There all the same. 'Could they have all gone to the toilet?' You ask yourself desperately holding onto hope, deep down knowing that over twenty girls couldn't have gone to the loo and all tucked in their sheets so well.
The intruders, you decided to call them, were all pointing at the bathroom door, one had his face pressed against it again calling out the name. "Teresa!" The swirl of a flushing toilet cut him off, he reached for the handle but another guy grabbed his arm.
