Glad to be better I started to hum. It's been almost three days since I recovered from my cold. I flip the sizzling bacon. Two hands wrapped round my waist, a mouth kissing and sucking on my neck. I leant back, smiling. "Newt..." I moaned.
"Good morning love." He kissed my cheek.
"Can you read the letter please?" I pass him an envelope.
He frowned and opened it. "Since when did you get letters?"
I put my hands on my hips. "Since when did you get an attitude?"
He kissed me. "Sorry darling." And continued reading the chaotic scribbles. "It's not even addressed to you." He looked at the front of the envelope. "Yeah it's not for you."
"Oh." I picked up the envelope, but all I saw were lines and dots.
Newt was watching me, his eyes scanning over me. "Can't you read?" I gave him the envelope and shook my head, slightly embarrassed. "Sorry." He muttered, as we both went about stuff.
I served up the bacon on a metal plate with some bread. Newt took a huge mouthful. "Anyway what does it say?" I ask, sitting next to him and resting my head on his shoulder, I watched him read.
His eyes scanned over the ink and then he cleared his throat. "It is an invite for one of us to go work with a....doctor Pirelle? For a week. Load of rubbish." He screwed it up into a ball. "No one will want to waste their time on that."
I lifted my head up. "Doctor Pirelle?" Newt nodded. "Newt!!" I screamed jumping in my seat. "Doctor Pirelle is the best war physician in France, it would be amazing to spend a week with him." I desperately unscrunched the paper ball.
Newt laughed at my excitement. "Love, I don't even know what a war piesician is."
I giggled. "Newt it's a physician, they treat the wounded at war. God I would love to learn from him." I looked at Newt with puppy eyes. "Please Newt... Please take the offer! Then you can teach me. Please...." I begged him.
"No. I'm not wasting my time." He laughed.
"Pleaseeeeeeee" I begged of him. "I'll stop spending money."
He shook his head chuckling. "And that's meant to bribe me how?"
I leant in close to his ear. "We would be able to afford a double bed...." I bit his ear lobe, pulling on it.
He rolled his eyes, pulled me in for a deep kiss. His lips were greasy and salty with the bacon fat. "Fine I will reply later." He agreed. "But you have to stop spending money on all this... Stuff." He picked up a long strand of paper.
I flicked his hand away. "It's not stuff, it's to redecorate this miserable place. You men are rubbish with colour matching and caring for this place. Look at the plaster peeling off everywhere."
Newt squeezed my hand. "That's because it's the trainees' jobs."

"What makes you think you can come in here?!" A deep voice shouted across the Garson courtyard.
I frowned questioningly at Newt. "Red guards." He muttered walking out to see the uproar, I followed.
Newt was right several guards were standing in the middle, all in their Crimson leather capes. Gally was on the balcony stairs, his sword drawn fidgeting in his hand. All the trainees were gathering around like an audience. Alby was leaning over the balcony rail, Tom frowned from where he stood opposite us. Minho was running down the stairs to back up Gally, pistol ready.

The guards shuffled awkwardly. "We have been sent to deliver y/n to the palace."
All eyes turned to me, Newt stood in front of me, hand on sword. "On who's orders?"
"The queen's."
I relax, few, the queen was trust worthy and safe. "Let me get my shawl." I went back into my kitchen to fetch it. Newt followed behind, grabbing his pistol and belt off the table and strapping them round his waist. "Where are you going?" I ask.
He repositioned his sword and put on his own jacket. "With you. I don't trust those fools one bit, especially with your life."
I kissed his cheek. "Newt, I trust the queen, I'll be fine." He stroked a thumb down my jaw, then a finger down my nose. "If one single strand of hair is out of place when you return I will shoot down every red guard."
I laughed wrapping the shawl round my shoulders. "What all 800?"
He kissed me. "Of course."

When I appeared from out my kitchen Gally embraced me so tight and out of the blue, I feared it may make Newt jealous. Luckily it didn't. "Be safe." Gally whispered, his huge figure practically absorbed me.
"I will."
Gally let go, I waved to the others and left with the red guards.
