(Y/N) silently walked up the hill, the breeze cooling her off. It was almost midnight in Paris, France, but she didn't care. That's when she saw him. He was sitting on the hill, staring at the city lights.
"Hello Levi." She greeted, sitting next to him. She leaned her back against the willow tree nearby their meeting spot. He was silent, like usual. He never talked anymore. She sighed as she moved closer to him.
"Levi, how have you been?" She asked him, but was once again greeted with only silence. (Y/N) understood. Levi hadn't talked in months. He would just sit in silence and admire Paris from the hill. (Y/N) couldn't blame. It was such a pretty landscape to get lost in.
The lights shone brightly from all over the city. The Eiffel Tower was especially prominent from this angle, making Paris even more, if possible, beautiful than it already was.
She couldn't help but look up and notice the clear night sky. Endless stars were visible to the bare eye. (Y/N) remembered the countless nights her and Levi had spent staring and admiring the stars and the moon.
Levi had always been into astronomy and would always tell her stories about the stars and moon. A silent tear fell down her cheek.
"Levi, have you ever felt like there wasn't any reason to stay in a certain place?" She asked. She waited, but received no answer. She wanted him to reply so badly, but he wouldn't. She knew that. She finally stood up and bid him farewell.
The next day, (Y/N) could barely get out of bed. It took all of her strength to pull herself from the comfort of her blanket and into the cold of the room. She opened her blinds and sighed. It was raining.
She sighed as she put on her sweater and a pair of old leggings that were ripped in at least several different locations. She pulled on her old combat boots and grabbed her backpack.
She walked to school, each individual raindrop being absorbed by the fabric of her sweater. She sighed, her (H/L), (H/C) hair plastered to her face as she arrived at school. She opened the door and entered the building, wiping her hair away from her mouth and eyes. She reluctantly entered her first class. She sat in her desk all by herself. Her desk partner and boyfriend, Levi, hadn't been to school in a while.
The teacher entered and gave (Y/N) a pitying look like she usually did, since Levi wasn't there. The teacher was assigning a huge project.
"(Y/N), are you alright doing this project alone?" She asked. (Y/N) nodded silently. The teacher handed her the instructions and rubric, before she went to the front of the classroom to explain them.
The rest of the school day went by slowly. The rain had stopped, and the sun was shining, but (Y/N) couldn't shake the wet feeling. She got home, grabbed her headphones and a snack, before heading out again.
He was there again, right by the willow tree. She sat down, setting her backpack down gently next to her.
"I missed you at school today." She mumbled as she pulled out the project instructions and her laptop.
""Find a quote that relates to yourselves and write about why.'" She said. She instantly began looking up topics. Whilst doing so, she felt herself slowly feel warmer and dryer, though she couldn't tell if it was because of the sun, or because of the boy next to her. (Y/N) found her quote, and got to work, fingers flying across the keyboard as the white haired boy next to her didn't talk.
A week later, (Y/N) stood up to talk about her project.
"'It's odd, isn't it. People die everyday and the world goes on like nothing happened' -Detectice Kyoko Kirigiri. This quote was one that I've heard many times before. And it hurts to think how true it is. Peoples friends and family die, and even the people closest to them barely stop to help them mourn. Sometimes people don't even acknowledge someone's death, leaving someone to mourn alone. I've lost someone close to me. His death changed my entire life and I don't think I will ever be the same. But while I was crying and barely eating, everyone was moving on. When I got back from hiding, no one would even acknowledged the fact he had passed or that I was upset. So I think about this quote and realize how true it is. That people die and the world never changes, except for a few people close to them." She said. Her teacher nodded, tears in her eyes, for (Y/N) to sit down. (Y/N) silently headed back to her desk.
That night, close to midnight, she climbed up the hill overlooking Paris, France. Levi was there, as always.
"Hey." She whispered as she gently laid down next to him. He didn't greet her. She observed Paris. She loved this city, but the question was should she stay.
The answer was yes. This was where Levi was, so of course she would stay. She didn't know how she could leave him.
"I got an A on my project." She told the boy. She wasn't looking at him, but she could sense that he was happy for her. She stared at the stars, barely awake as she talked mindless babble about school, about her mom, about her photography lessons, and about anything else she could think of. (Y/N) pulled out her phone and checked the time. The bright screen told her it was 2:15. She sighed. She needed to go home. She reluctantly looked at Levi.
"I have to go home, but I'll be back soon." She said. She pressed her fingers to her lips, a silent tear falling as she pressed the same fingertips to the cold stone of the headstone. She stood up, abandoning the stone that read:
