It was New Years Eve. Another year gone and a new year about to begin. (Y/N) was not looking forward to the day. Her friends Lance and Keith had forced her to come to another party, thrown by their friend Allura.
(Y/N) hadn't been that excited to go. She had been to tons of parties on New Years Eve and knew for a fact that half of the people, before midnight, would be drunk out of their minds. But Lance and Keith had practically begged her to go, saying they didn't want her to be alone for the celebration and that she might even find a cute boy to kiss at midnight.
(Y/N) had rolled her eyes at the thought, but she agreed to go anyway, just to make her best friends happy. So when the 3 walked into the house, (Y/N) in a pair of jeans, a loose fitting sweater, and a pair of heels that Lance had convinced her to wear, (Y/N) was less than excited.
"Come on, try to at least have a little fun!" Keith said, hand grasped tightly in Lance's. She gave a slight groan, but couldn't help but smile at how dorky her friends were. Despite the fact that they sometimes annoyed her, they looked out for her. God, she loved her gay best friends more than life.
"Okay, I promise I will try to have some fun. I'm going to go grab something to drink, you guys want something?" She asked. The two shook their heads. (Y/N) shrugged and went into the kitchen area. There was a ton of alcohol, but (Y/N) went with the safe option of soda. She was the designated driver after all. She wandered around the house slightly. She smiled when she saw Pidge.
"Pidge! How are you?" (Y/N) asked. The smaller boy smiled at her.
"I'm good. Shiro and Hunk dragged me here, but what's new?" He laughed. (Y/N) grinned.
"I get it. Lance and Keith dragged me here. I was honestly wondering what I was going to do at this party. I'm not exactly the most social." She explained. Pidge nodded.
"I understand. Why don't we go sit and talk?" He asked. The two found a staircase, where they sat and talked.
"So how are Lance and Keith?" Pidge asked, taking a sip of his drink.
"Pretty good. I'm pretty sure tomorrow is their 3 year anniversary. I'm surprised they haven't gotten married yet." She said. Pidge snorted as he laughed.
"I know. They are cute together though. Lance dorkiness and Keith's cluelessness really go hand in hand." Keith said.
"Yep. I was already promised that when they do get married, I get to be the best woman for Keith." I said. Pidge laughed.
"Lance offered me that position. I agreed, so this should be fun." They continued to talk about their friends and how dorky of a couple they were. They had just started talking about how Shiro was when they heard loud cheers coming from the dining room. They exchanged looks and reluctantly got up to check out what the commotion was about.
They entered the room and pushed through the crowd until they stood next to Lance and Keith.
"What's happening?" (Y/N) asked the red clad man next to her. He smiled down and laughed.
"Levi just beat another person at beer pong." Lance explained. (Y/N)'s eyes turned to the table tennis table where a gray haired man was being congratulated. He was smirking in a cocky way. Her eyes widened.
"I wanna play." She announced. Eyes turned to her as she walked out to the table. The boy smirked at her.
"Are you sure princess? I'm quite good at this." He said. (Y/N) smirked.
"It just so happens I am too. Let's play." She said, filling her cups with beer. The man's smirk fell and he grumbled as he started to fill his cups.
"What are rules are we playing by?" She asked.
"We decide who goes first by 'Eyes', we play with the elbow rules, bouncing, and re-racking rules. No fingering or blowing." He said. (Y/N) nodded.
"Cool, you can go first." She said. Levi grabbed his ping pong balls. His gray eyes met her (E/C) eyes as he threw the first ball. It missed. Second one. Missed.
"My turn." She said, brushing her hair out of her face. Eyes met again. First. Missed. Second one. Bullseye.
"I guess I go first." (Y/N) said, grabbing her balls back from Levi. She threw both of them, but neither made it in. Levi raised an eyebrow.
This was going to be a long game.

"You got this!" Keith exclaimed, arm lazily draped across Lance's shoulders. (Y/N) took a deep breath. One cup left on Levi's side, two cups left on her side. She took a deep breath and bounced the ball into the cup. She cheered as she watched Levi's face fall. Keith, Lance and tons of others broke out into cries of excitement. She watched as Levi reluctantly drank the cup of beer.
"Good game." She said, putting her hand out. They shook hands. She was overrun by Lance, Keith, and Pidge relatively fast and didn't notice the boy slip away.

"Hey." She said, taking a seat on the couch next to Levi.
"Oh hey. What's up?" Levi asked, taking a sip of water. (Y/N) smiled.
"Not much. That was a good game." She commented. Levi nodded.
"Yeah, you were really good. Where did you learn to do that?" He asked. She smiled.
"I've been friends with Keith and Lance for a while. They have been dragging me to parties for a while. You learn things." (Y/N) explained. Levi nodded.
"That's pretty cool. You here with anyone?" He asked. She blushed and shook her head.
"Unfortunately not." She said.
"That's surprising, you're really cute." He complimented. (Y/N) blushed harder.
"Well, thank you." She was about to compliment Levi, but she was cut off by her friends rushing in.
"Come on guys, it's almost midnight. The fireworks are about to start." Hunk said. Levi and (Y/N) both stood up and headed to the backyard. The countdown started.

Levi put his arm around (Y/N) as they cheered.

Lance and Keith had themselves draped over one another, a love struck look in their eyes.

Levi turned (Y/N) to face him. He placed his hands on her waist.

(Y/N) smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Happy New Year!" Everyone cheered, and Levi's soft lips met (Y/N)'s chapped ones. They kissed, next to Lance and Keith, who were also kissing.
And to think this all started with a simple beer pong game.
