Levi hated remembering that night. Remembering how it was all his fault. Remembering that night, the horror, and the blood. It was too much, and staring at his beautiful girl laying in bed, barely alive, reminded him that he was the reason his love might never wake up.

It had been a horrible day for both of them. Levi was demoted at work and (Y/N) had been laid off at the small diner she worked. So when they got home, they both wanted nothing to do with each other.
"(Y/N), who keeps texting you?" Levi asked as they ate dinner.
"It's just Armin, calm down." She huffed, picking up the phone.
"Why does Armin keep texting you?"
"It's nothing important, I promise."
"Really, because it seems to be pretty fucking important!" Levi shouted.
"It's nothing, okay! I've had a rough day so please stop yelling!" (Y/N) shouted as tears rolled down her face.
"Why shouldn't I?! How do I know that somethings not happening!?"
"Do you really not trust me? You know what, fine!" She said, standing up and running out of the small townhouse.

Levi got the call later whilst he was crying that he was need urgently at the hospital. When he arrived, he found her, dying. And he died inside, because she was gone because of him.
He regretted everything. He only went home for a short hour and threw chairs at walls and screamed. Because if he hadn't had been such an asshat, she wouldn't be leaving him so soon.

A couple months later, and (Y/N) showed no sign of waking up. Levi stayed by here side, only leaving at night to sleep. But if you needed to find Levi at anytime of the day, he was by her side.
When the doctor had told him he could only be on life support for 10 more days, Levi shouted. He wasn't about to let her go.

The day after the doctor told him, Levi began to panic. What if she died? Levi would never forgive himself if he could never see (Y/N) again. He prayed to any god there was that she woke up. That she would still be there and alive when he came the next day. That night, Levi didn't leave the hospital, only sat my her side and sobbed.

On the 3rd day of the 10 days, Levi was a wreck. He hadn't slept in 2 days and was to sensitive for anyone to tell him anything. Erwin and Hanji had tried. He wouldn't listen, only held onto (Y/N)'s soft, but cold hands and cry, begging them to let him stay with her.
Out of pity, they agreed, bringing him a blanket, some food, and a pair of clothes. They prayed for the couple, hoping that they would be okay. They hated that (Y/N) was in a coma, but hated it more that Levi was so traumatized.

Half way through the time limit, Levi decided to give himself a day away from his girlfriend. He figured maybe she didn't want to wake up with him around. He was too tired to reason anything else.
He walked around, before heading to the small ice cream place where (Y/N) and him had their first date. He sat down, hands in his hoodie pockets, and ordered (Y/N)'s favorite.
When he returned to the hospital, he carried a small container, full of most of the ice cream he had gotten, for he hadn't eaten it all.

On the 7th day, Levi broke down in the hospital. He full on screamed and cried, begging for his love to come back. All Levi wanted was to see her beautiful smile, her stunning eyes, and most importantly, he wanted to hold her once more, and tell her he loved her.

The day before they were taking (Y/N) off life support, Levi gave up. He knew that the chances of her waking up tomorrow were slim. He stared at her body, gave her forehead a kiss, before placing his pendant, a wings of freedom symbol, on her neck. He sat in the chair beside her bedside the rest of the day, silently cursing God for taking her away.

The last day, Levi cried tears of joy, because when he woke up from his sleep, a pair of bright (E/C) eyes were staring at him.
"(Y/N)!" Levi yelled, jumping up and hugging the girl in front of him. He sobbed and rocked her. He praised everything that this girl was alive.
He felt his heart shatter again only 1 minute later as the girl stared at him.
