Skylar's P.O.V.
Twenty minutes until the game starts!
The guys are warming up right now while Spence and I look for a seat. The bleachers have been packed for hours with people from all across the state.
Luckily, we were able to find a spot at the very front, just big enough for the two of us.
We rush to the seat, hoping to get there before anyone else. Once we arrive, we notice a sign taped over the two seats.
These Seats Are
Reserved For
Skylar Edwards
And
Spencer MayWe giggle madly while the blush takes over our faces.
"Oh my god." I laugh out. "They gave us their last names."
"Hmm... Shall we sit, Mrs. Edwards?" She asks in a cheesy posh accent.
"Why of course, Mrs. May." I reply.
We giggle and sit down, watching the teams warm up. We notice Grayson and Carter across the field looking at us, we can't see their expressions through their helmets, but I can only assume they're sporting proud smirks.
They both wave enthusiastically before running over to us in the stands.
"Hey, Princess!" Grayson shouts as he approaches.
"Hey. So, we're married now?"
I raise an eyebrow and he chuckles softly.
"Of course! Do you like the seats, my lovely wife?" He asks.
"Love them, my idiotic husband."
"You're mean." He frowns childishly.
"Sorry, babe. I would kiss you to apologize, but your helmet's in the way. Darn." I say sarcastically.
He moves to take off his helmet, but I place a hand on top of his head to stop him.
"You'll get a kiss after you win." I say with a small grin.
"Damn right he will." Carter pipes up. "In front of everyone."
My eyes widen as I turn from him to Grayson, then back again.
"W-what are you t-talking about?" I ask nervously.
"It's the last game of the season. Every year the team captain kisses his girlfriend in the middle of the fields. You know, as a victory sort of thing." Carter shrugs. "If we lose, no kiss. But I doubt we could possibly lose to these guys."
A gape silently at Carter for a moment, nervous about the kiss, shocked that I hadn't known, and annoyed that Grayson never told me.
"Why didn't you tell me, you asshole!?" I say while slapping my boyfriend's shoulder.
"Sorry, Princess. I thought you knew."
I slouch back into my chair and groan loudly. I can't kiss Grayson in front of everyone! The girls in my school already want to kill me!
"You really don't have to baby, we can just skip it." Grayson says with a shrug.
I know that shrug. That's the 'I'll be a good boyfriend and say it doesn't matter but really it means the world' shrug.
I let out a long sigh and sit up.
"No, it's tradition. I'll do it." I say quietly.
"You sure?"
