Skylar's P.O.V.

Last night was wonderful, but passed by far too quickly for my liking.

Yes, Grayson and I had sex. And yes, it was just as amazing as always. Unfortunately, it ended within two hours, and we fell asleep soon afterwards.

It's now Friday, which is the reasoning behind why Carter and I are in full panic mode.

You'd think that it would be only the girls who were nervous for prom night. You know, stereotypes and crap.

Well, you're wrong.

Spencer is completely laid back and confident in tomorrow night, along with Grayson and Zay.

Meanwhile, Carter is practically hysterical while making sure that everything's perfect for tomorrow night, which tells me that he's going to be a terrible groom-zilla at Sparter's wedding.

Since yesterday, I've come up with seventeen new scenarios for how the dance could go, none of which end with everyone happy.

In all honestly, half of them end with me dying.

Always the optimist...

Anyway, it's currently the beginning of lunch, and we're all at the bleachers except for Carter.

Shocker.

He's still been in and out of our lives since we all started hanging out together.

Gray and Isaac know why. They haven't said anything, but I'm fully aware of the looks they send each other when I bring up Carter's absences.

Spencer tries her best not to think too far into it, but it's hard for her.

I live with my boyfriend, while hers randomly goes M.I.A. every five minutes.

Oh well, we'll be out of this shitty school soon, and they can work out their problems then.

When they're married, living together, and have kids on the way.

Yes, I've planned my best friends' future. Problem? No? Good.

Grayson and Isaac appear to be especially nervous today, and I don't think it has anything to do with our upcoming prom.

They claim that it's nothing, but I'm smarter than that.

Smart enough to know that something's wrong, just not smart enough to know what.

Goodie.

The two anxious boys are whispering back and forth between each other, doing a horrible job of making it look like nothing's wrong.

Spencer, Elliot, and I are chatting about prom. Our hopes for the night, who the king and queen may end up being...

They seem to be oblivious to the guys' strange demeanor.

Maybe I'm just going crazy.

"I hear that a girl on the prom committee threw a fit because the blue lights clashed with the red lights." Spencer gossips.

Elliot chuckles. "Jenna Helms. I was in the gym when she freaked and chucked a paint brush."

"No way! Did she get kicked off of the committee?"

He shrugs. "Doubtful. She's been the student body president through all of highschool. She gets things done, whether she's a nutcase or not."

The three of us laugh at his words.

Jenna Helms is indeed a nutcase...

"Oh my god! I almost forgot. Who are you going to the dance with?" I ask Elliot.
