Skylar's P.O.V.

After Carter's epic promposal, we all made our way home. Spencer's mom is still gone on business, so Carter's been staying at her's lately.

The party's tonight, and honestly, I'm super nervous. I trust that Grayson won't leave me alone, it's just weird knowing what could happen to me.

What did happen to me.

Isaac decided that I'm getting ready at his house again. Apparently, his mom misses me, and wants to do my hair and makeup.

I just hope it turns out okay.

I'm on my way there now, and Spencer said she'll meet us there in an hour. She said something about wanting to 'spend some time' with Carter.

So, like the amazing best friend I am, I sent him a warning text.

Me: B gentle and use protection. Don't u dare get my best friend pregnant. I don't want my 1st niece or nephew 2 b an accident. BTW make her Mac 'n cheese when u 2 finish. She's obsessed. Good luck!

I'm such a good friend.

As I arrive at Isaac's house, I feel the nerves begin to rise. I take a deep breath before ringing the door bell.

Almost instantly, the door flies open to reveal Isaac's mom in a long white dress.

"Skylar!" She cheers.

"Hi Mrs. Smith. It's nice to see you again."

"Oh please, call me Jenna."

"Mom..." Isaac groans as he approaches. "That's not your name."

I purse my lips together to stifle a laugh as I watch the two bicker.

"Yes it is!" She protests.

"Mom, your name's Talya." He says exasperatedly.

"Oh... That's a pretty name." She muses.

"Mhmm... Go eat your soup while I get Skylar settled."

Without another word, Jen... Er... Talya... Walks away toward the kitchen.

"I'm sorry." He sighs.

I giggle freely and step inside.

"What was that?" I ask.

"She does that to all the new guests. We got lucky last time when she had to leave for work. I promise, she's not actually insane. She just likes to mess with my friends."

I giggle again. "She's awesome."

He rolls his eyes and grabs my forearm, leading me up the stairs. I trail behind him willingly as he drags me toward what I can only assume is his bedroom.

He finally releases my arm and jumps onto the bed. After shifting for a bit, he tucks his hands behind his head and lounges comfortably while staring at me.

"You can sit down, you know." He says with a chuckle.

I smile sheepishly and sit down at the foot of the bed, fiddling with my fingers awkwardly in my lap.

"Can I trust your mom?" I ask randomly.

He raises an eyebrow. "You mean like, with your past?"

I nod slowly. He stares at me for a moment before responding.

"Of course you can trust her. But it's more of a matter of whether you want to or not. You don't have to tell her."

"I know. I just want to make sure it'll be okay if something slips."
