Skylar's P.O.V.

The loud music leaves me temporarily deaf. The heavy bass makes my heart tremble. The bright lights blur my vision for the time being. The burning stench of alcohol drowns my system. And the hundreds of under-dressed highschoolers rubbing against each other raises my body temperature instantly.

Welcome to the party.

Grayson wraps his arm tightly around my waist as we maneuver through the mob of wasted teenagers.

A hand or two manages to find my rear, but thankfully, Gray doesn't notice. I shoot them glares, earning a snicker in return, but they soon return to the chicks grinding on them.

Pigs...

"Having fun?" Grayson asks as we enter the kitchen.

"I guess, but we just got here. Let's go dance."

He chuckles softly while I drag him behind me toward the other drunk teens. I intend to make the best out of this party.

I lead him out into the middle of the room, smiling as I recognize the next song that plays.

I let go of Grayson's and hand and face him while we dance along to the pounding music.

This continues for solid hour before we decide to take a break and get something to drink.

I settle with water, knowing that Gray will get drunk and someone will have to drive us home.

"Skylar!" A voice shouts excitedly behind me.

I turn around and see Spencer and Carter walking up to me.

"Hey! How's it going?" I ask.

"Fine. Carter has already beaten up a guy for slapping my ass." She laughs.

I giggle before leaning in to whisper to the couple.

"I managed to keep Grayson distracted while guys were perving out on me. I just saved two guys from black eyes."

Spencer laughs softly while Carter only stares at me seriously.

"Are you okay...?"

"I'm fine. Can we talk?"

I glance back at Grayson. "I don't think so, at least not right now. I need to keep Gray from doing anything stupid."

"I'm sure he'll be fine, Spencer can babysit him. We need to talk."

Spencer gives him a weird look, then turns to me, mentally asking me what he means. I just shake my head in response and return my attention to Carter.

"Why do we need to talk?"

"You know exactly why we need to talk. Please, Skylar."

I sigh. "If this is about what happened in the basement. I already told you, it doesn't matter."

"What happened in the basement?" Grayson asks as he approaches.

"Nothing. We were just joking about how Miles kept flirting with him." I say.

"Yeah. That's it. Now Skylar and I need to talk, we'll be back."

He kisses Spencer's forehead and smiles reassuringly before grabbing my elbow and towing me away from the wild party.

I follow behind him reluctantly as he leads me up the stairs. I can't help but feel slightly nervous about what he's going to say.

We enter an empty room room and I sit down on the desk chair. I sigh, running a hand through my hair as he stares at me.
