Skylar's P.O.V.

"Is this one too sparkly?"

I glance up from my phone, my eyes widening slightly. "It's definitely sparkly."

"But is it too sparkly?" She asks.

I sigh. "Do you love it?"

She tilts her head to the side and looks in the mirror, thinking about her answer.

"Do you love Carter?"

"Of course." She says instantly.

I smile. "That's how quick your answer should be. If you don't love it, it's not the right dress."

Spencer narrows her eyes at me. "Since when are you so wise with dress shopping?"

I scoff. "Since you made me sit here while you tried on sixteen different gowns."

She rolls her eyes and steps into he changing room to remove the sequined dress.

"Oh, don't be a baby." She calls through the stall door. "Besides, I told you to look for yours, but you refused. So this was your alternative option."

"I was only asked to prom an hour ago." I point out. "Why are we shopping already?"

She steps out of the changing room with the dress back on the hanger.

"Because your little boy toy decided to wait until last minute. So we only have a few days to find the perfect dress."

I sigh and follow behind her as she maneuvers through racks of different gowns. This store has dresses for everything. From children's birthday parties, to formal weddings.

Spencer's been doing some hardcore digging since the moment we stepped into the boutique. I've scanned around a bit, but nothing really caught my eye quite yet.

"Holy shit." Spencer breathes out from behind me.

I look at her with a raised eyebrow, and without looking at me, she points to a dress a few rows down.

I follow her line of gaze, instantly knowing that she had found her perfect dress.

"Well don't just stand here! Go get it and try it on!"

She snaps back to reality and rushes to the dress, walking straight into the dressing room.

I sit down on the cheetah print sofa in front of the stall doors, waiting for my best friend to come out in her dream gown.

Soon enough, she steps out into the open, now wearing a beautiful dress that reaches the floor.

Its color is a strange yet gorgeous mix of beige and white, topped with jewels and beading on the torso.

The neckline sits as a halter top, though a small slit is cut into the top, giving a tiny amount of cleavage.
