Rin and Riki got mated once again and it was a joyous occasion. It held more weight to it the second time around. After that they weren't seen for awhile. Of course the baby was in the same room but apparently that was good for the pups confidence. The smell of it's parents mating reaffirmed the stability of the pack it was born into. I felt like it was a little odd but then again this was demons we were talking about.
Me and Sesshomaru feel back into our old cycle and Jaken was included more often by my doing. I was going to make sure that he was treated right. For this, he gained more respect for me. Which was, a win for me in my book. I wasn't quite Sesshomaru level but damn was I getting close!
Rin and Riki left with their son after a week and a half. I was sad to see them go but hey did have their own hold and lives to run. Space once a being gets to the right age is necessary. It's like a sink or swim testing. Yet me and Sesshomaru were close enough to catch them should they start to sink. So in a way everyone wins.
Me and Jaken made it a point to visit Willow and her parent tree every time we had a large amount of free time. Willow was just so pleasant. I found myself going to her alone sometimes. Through her connection with the earth and her father she was quickly becoming more and more knowledgeable. I would lunge on her branches and talk to her. The conversations became more and more intellectual, which was good but I missed the child like wonder.
"Winter is coming soon. I suspect the first snow will fall in a week." Willow put out there.
"I suspect as much too. It's awfully cold, so it's likely." I said huddling up to the tree as much as I could. For a tree it was rather warm.
"It's a season of trail and homely experience. A time for rest, for the land to regain what it wore out. Soon even I will slumber but I hope it doesn't happen before your birthday in two days."
"I don't exactly know what will happen upon my waking but I will be sure to come if possible."
"I am sure you will be fine." She assured me. I nodded closing my eyes. The wind picked up and it was bitterly cold. I shivered slightly and felt the goosebumps rise on my arms. "Good home and rest beside the fire Helena. It would do you no good to get sick."
"It will take more then a few hours in the cold to get me sick. Even if it does I know how to cure myself." I countered not wanting to leave the serenity of being in her branches. She shook herself causing me to almost fall out of her. "I can heal broken bones quick too but that wouldn't be pleasant for me."
"Than leave me, I have another visitor coming." She huffed.
"Another visitor? Who? Is it wise to have other people knowing about you? Not judging your fortitude but you can't run should a strong opponent comes with the intent to kill." I frowned. I spent too much time caring her for her to be killed by some asshole.
"She is a kitted fox Demon. Don't worry she seeks the powers of my leaves to relieve her pregnancy induced sickness." She soothed.
"Then allow me to meet her. Surely I can be of help." I offered.
"You just wish to evaluate this Demon to make sure she holds no ill will towards me." Willow immediately called me out.
"Can you blame me? In a way I see you as my baby too." I rolled my eyes.
