"Well shit, good mood is gone." I groan getting back up from where Sesshomaru had brutally floored me. I got in a few hits my damn self. Broke his nose but it healed quickly once he snapped in into place. "Hey, can someone find my kidney? I think they were punched out!" I called out to the guys.
"You need more training in combat." Sesshomaru said. I arched back popping my back. I wasn't used to this form, that was going to be my excuse. It was a semi stable excuse but at least I got out a lot of pent up energy. He left the training field and I followed him.
"Well, I could argue your logic behind making me do battle without my magic. Yet, I see the sense behind it so I won't. Work on the very basics to strengthen your talents. It's pretty text book." I sighed as we entered the gardens. He stopped and over looked it all. "It's strange not seeing Rin around is it not? The very air seems to lacking." I said lifting my head. I took a deep breath and let it out.
"Hn, we will visit her at the weeks end." He said softly.
"Yes, I was thinking the same Milord." I agreed.
"You still harbor a grudge against me." He said not as a question but as a fact.
"Yes, knocking you around has helped elevate the anger. I am getting over it, a little bit slowly but I'm working on it." I shrugged.
"My mother has prepared another ball to find me a mate. You are welcome to come." He said walking for the castle.
"Again? Uggghhh! Why is it so important for you to get a mate?" I asked following him.
"The alpha female is to aid the male in running the lands. She feels that I am in need of such a thing." He said.
"Ha, why when you've got me here? I've made this castle run smoothly as it is already? I'm surprised I haven't made it where the servants don't have to do nearly as much work as they do! Honestly, if your mate tried taking the reins of this castle I would be offended! Yeah, she could do a good job but not as good as a job as me! Sure she'll have more power, both literal and in the sense of rank, but that's only until I reach finality." I rolled my eyes.
"Are you saying you're better suited to be my mate than other's?" He asked casting his golden glaze on me.
"EEEHHH?" I exclaimed tail standing straight up. "No! Haha haha! I'm just saying if you mate it should be on your own terms! Until then your mother needs to keep her nose out of it. You're doing a fine job of running things and I'm doing a good job of helping! That's all I was saying!" I quickly explained blushing.
"I agree." He said leaving me there flustered.
'Come to my study.' He ordered through our mental link as he rounded the corner. I blinked a few times then rushed to follow him. We entered his study and he grabbed the spare cushion before setting it beside his. I took the hit and settled down beside him. He sorted through his stack of papers and separated it into two. He handed me a stack and started on the one he kept for himself.
"You're going to allow me to take over half of your work?" I asked picking up the first scroll.
"You made a valid point but it was flawed. You have yet to take up the required work that a mate would have." He said.
"So, your grooming me to be a proxy mate? That way you can use me as a defense against your mother?" I chuckled reading through the report. It was of all the supplies that were needed this month to keep the castle in shape.
"Hn." He agreed.
'Well, I won't turn it down. It'll cut down on my training along with my combat training. Still, it'll be a good thing for me. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing after all.' I said crunching the numbers of all the money that was expended. I guess this was his version of a tab.
