Unknown Caller

'Go to the bone eaters well.' Grace's voice whispered on the wind. I opened my eyes and sat up. It was just barely dawn and the birds around the woods were already chirping about. Sesshomaru was sitting beside me looking onward to the horizon.

"Did you hear that?" I asked.

"Hn." He nodded his head. I yawned rubbing my eyes before getting up. Sesshomaru followed my lead and watched as I walked to the nearest stream to wash my face. I then took the time to eat on the bank before addressing Sesshomaru.

"She wouldn't tell me to go somewhere for no reason." I stated. He didn't respond but he turned towards Edo and took to the air. I quickly followed him. As we flew I wondered what she could possibly want from me there. Quickly we arrived at the old well. Sesshomaru landed on the grass before it while I landed on the lip of the well. The second my feet touched the wood my phone inside my bag began to ring. It startled me to the point that I feel off. Sesshomaru easily caught me though. I laughed nervously and quickly pulled my phone out. "Dad?" I gasped reading the caller ID. I shot Sesshomaru a look before answering the call. "Hello?"

"Helena......I'm so glad to hear that your still alive! Grace called me yesterday. Saying something about an old well and the planets being alined. Anyways she said that today you would have phone service." My dad blurted in relief. I frowned looking up to the sky.

"Huh? I should've paid attention. So how are you and mom?" I asked.

"We are just fine! I want to hear about you! What's this I hear about you getting mated! Is it to your familiar? Is he a decent Demon? Are you sure your feelings are true and not just brought on by the bond?" Dad asked.

"Dddaaadd! He is my familiar, he is the best Demon of his time and I am sure my feelings are true." I groaned answering him.

"Okay......do you love him?" He asked.

"DAAADDDD!" I bellowed.

"Sweetie!" He shot back.

"Yes...."I sighed in defeat looking up to Sesshomaru who was still holding me." I love him dearly." I confessed with a smile.

"Does he return your feelings?" He asked. I was about to answer him but Sesshomaru beat me to it.

"Of course this one return such feelings." Sesshomaru said making me bloom with happiness. I knew he returned my feelings but I had never asked him to state them aloud. Yet, he did so of his own accord and it made me so happy.

"Oh! Hello! I hope you are keeping my daughter happy. She deserves to be happy after everything she has gone through." Dad greeted Sesshomaru.

"Hn." Sesshomaru grunted in agreement.

"Are you happy?" He asked.

"Dad...." I said feeling happy tears well up. "I never thought I would ever be able to be this happy for so long." I confessed voice wavering.

"Those with faith always find peace." He said. "I'm happy for you sweetie....." He said and for the next hour me and him talked while Sesshomaru listened in. I really didn't want to get off the phone but unfortunately it was late in his time. We said goodbye and he hung up. I sat there in silence smiling up at the sky. I got to talk to my dad after all this time, it was a good day in my book. Suddenly my phone started to ring again. I looked at it thinking maybe my dad was calling again but it wasn't. The ID was unknown. I frowned glancing at Sesshomaru before answering the phone.

"Hello?" I asked. The voice that answered me was one that I had only heard once when I was thirteen.

"My sweet daughter, how a have been searching for you! Mommy has been waiting for you to reach your finality! Now that you have I believe it's time for a reunion........" My birth mother's voice came out through my phones speaker. I was suddenly chilled to my very core and filled with a sense of dread. My mother, she doesn't mean me well. I felt Sesshomaru growl at the sounds of her voice.

Just when shit was going good for me......Just when I finally feel safe.....
