Chapter 9

Jenny's POV

After breakfast I go on a long search for Lily. I can't find her anywhere! I walk into Mitch and Lilac's room.

"Have you seen Lily?" I ask. Lilac points to Duke's bed."How did she get here?"

"She crawled. She loves Duke," Lilac says. Lily is curled up in a ball against Duke. The two of them are sleeping.

"Oh, my gosh! Make sure they don't wake up!" I say.

I run back to my room and grab my phone. I sprint back and take a picture.

"Lilac, look at this!" I say, showing her the picture.

"Send it to me!" she says.

"I will. This is my new background. Imagine how good of friends our kids will be..."

"Shut up," Lilac snaps.

"What did I do?" I say, putting my hands up.

"I'm starting to remember the night before the wedding."

"And?"

"Adam."

"What about him?"

"I think he might be the dad."

"What?!" I say.

"Ssh. This is really bad. What do I even do?!"

"If it is his...Have you told Mitch yet?"

"Yeah."

"Shit."

"What?"

"I was gonna say that you should tell him it's his..."

"I think I should adopt the kid anyways. I mean, I don't wanna be a mother at this age. It's stupid. Only an idiotic stupid person would do that!"

It feels like a bullet just hit me. I feel burning tears spilling over my cheeks. Why did she say that? Why did she say that to me?

I can tell she feels bad. Her eyes get huge and her eyes fill with tears.

"Jenny...I didn't mean it..."

"Why did you say that? Do you think I'm an idiot?!" I say.

"No, not at all."

"I'm thinking of adopting Lily."

"WHAT?!" she screams."WHY?!"

"Lower your voice! I just...I'm really thinking about it now. And you're right, only an idiotic stupid person would be a mother at this age. I'm only 19. I didn't think when I was a newly-wed."

"Jenny. No. You can't. You can't get rid of Lily! You love her too much!"

"I know. But I still-"

"No! You're keeping her!" Lilac says.

"You really think I should?"

"Yeah! You love her to pieces!"

"You can't get rid of your baby either. You'll fall in love with her when you see her. Trust me. You may not seem like it now, but when you go through the pain of pushing her out of you baby hole...love is all you're gonna feel for her. Like a miracle just happened. One second she's not even there, then all of a sudden she is. It's the most amazing feeling in the world. There's not a chance that you'll hate her. It's impossible."

"Thanks, Jenny. But what if it's Adam's baby? What should I tell him and Mitch?"

"How would it be Adam's baby? Why would you ever do that?" I say.

"Maybe I was drunk and he was too."

"What happens if Alesa finds out?"

"Enough with the questions. Send me the picture of Lily and Duke!"

"Alright," I say and send her the picture. Lilac and I hang out all day. We talk and hang out. We even record. And then we vlog and stream. Best day ever with my best friend.
