THINKINGABOUTYOU
Nova had just opened her locker to take out her history textbook when a note fell out.
The sight of the familiar pale blue paper tugged at her heartstrings.
Rosesarered Violetsareblue IjustwanttosayI'msorry And I can'tstopthinkingaboutyou
Before she knew it, she was smiling. But on the off-chance that he was watching from somewhere, she composed her face into a neutral expression and shut her locker.
Taking her usual place in History class, she felt her phone vibrate and turned the screen on to see a new email notification.
He'd attached an image this time, with a caption.
The picture was of a table stacked with books upon books in an utterly messy manner, scribbled pages scattered everywhere.
And the caption —

Nova's cheeks blazed, heat searing through her chest and up her neck as the witty message cracked her lips into a huge smile.
Was this what Graham had been talking about? When he said to be patient and that John would probably want to show her he was sorry?
She'd have to tell him he was right later.
The next email came during lunch, just as she was swallowing a spoonful of strawberry yogurt.
This time the attachment was a collage of three smaller pictures. One of the sky in a particularly sunny place, where the sun took up most of the space in a blinding white light; another of a full moon with its reflection on the river that flowed underneath; and the last was of a galaxy.
And, once again, a caption—

And Nova was a goner.
Her cheeks hurt so, so much from the gigantic smile on her face and for once, she couldn't care that everyone might possibly be staring at her.
Let them know she was happy. Let them see that she wasn't stupid for being a hopeless romantic.
Because there was a guy out there who believed she was worth the effort, and she wasn't about to let anyone take that away from her.
