June Rains

I see the breeze before I feel it,

Teasing the summer leaves

I feel the rain before I see it,

As it falls upon my sleeves

And the sky betrays its sadness

As the clouds make way for blue

And yet those tears fall steadily,

Their crying begins anew,

Its rhythm beats of bygone days,

And it's placid beauty: soothing,

And I feel an ache inside me

Slowly begin to loosen,

And now there's something in my heart

That wasn't there before,

As I stand there in the June rain,

As I stand there and

watch it pour.
