Quiet Love

The snow on the ground is melting

And my heart still longs for you

If I were strong, I would stop

But I am not,

So my longing shall continue,

And go on it will

Until the autumn leaves spill,

And the morning dew drips

Off of next years spring leaves,

If by then, I've waited in vain

To hear my love,

Returned from your lips,

I'll regret nothing I did in those

Bittersweet months, full of longing

And dreaming, and sighing

Instead, I will smile

For it was all worthwhile, and a lesson

I was taught upon loving you,

But if somehow your lips form

I love you too

My world would be filled with

Light and I'd laugh,

I'd kiss you,

For you, just you

Loved me back, and that's all that

Would matter.
